So you can try out a whole bunch of stuff there and even closely compare different headphones, DACs, and amps in a nicely quiet space. Since it is still a cross-town drive for you, you can make plans to go to Snax for a breakfast burrito with homefries in the morning, then go to the Source AV to listen to stuff for a few hours, then go back to Snax for a triplex special or whatever you want for lunch:

So I would love recommendations and opinions:

Solid-state or tube amplifier?
DAC or should I get something integrated?
How much do you need to spend on a set of headphones to get the sound you want? Should it be open or closed? I like over the ear and open as far as I know.
How important are cables? (Give an example of good vs. what I might think is good)

AURALiC Vega G1 (streaming dac+headphone out) + Focal Utopia on used market. Done. The combo sounds fantastic and good for every genre.
