Pearl Jam - Dark Matter

I've been trying to dig into this album more and more. Put it on and my son(5 y/o) came out dancing to song 2 - "react, respond" and then came out again dancing to song 3 - "wreckage". Think he's picked out the best songs on the album so far. It's definitely a rocking album!

I have 7 of their albums also including that one (their first). They're a great group. Love Corinne Drewery's vocals. The last album I have by them is Beautiful Mess (2008). Also a good album.

I have all of their studio albums, except the last one (2017), and a few compilations of hits and/or different song versions. Have had them all for years, but so far have only listened to the first two (which I like) because they land in my most favorite years for their type of sound (sophisti-pop, jazzy pop) and come in before the Loudness Wars started. Finally going to see where they go in the rest of their career!

For today:

Principles of Lust: perhaps NSFW?

Great album. "Principles of Lust" was all over the pop hit stations when I was a kid and was pretty unique. I bought the CD and it introduced me to new age-y music. I used (and still do) the first two tracks of the album to help me go to sleep (that's not a slight directed at the music; much of my favorite music, and much that I find most interesting, I also find relaxing/atmospheric enough to get lost in and become somnolent). Crétu's wife, Sandra, did some vocals on the album and has some good stuff in her solo career (I have her first 5 albums). I remember this one from when I was a kid:

Yeah, all mines are studio releases. I bought their first one, then sporadically stuff here and there. This is what I have. I like their The Living Return album. I like their music in general as they kind of have a 60's soul vibe. I'll have to go through what I have as I hadn't listened to them in a while.

My shop chief turned me on the that album when I was in the military. He played it a lot.

As a side note, regarding Keith Jarrett, he's one artist I never bought. Don't have any of his albums. Will have to check some of his stuff on Spotify sometime.
