I have been using this amp with my Abyss Phi and have listened to it with the susvara and it is a really nice pairing with these 2 incredibly discerning difficult to drive HP's.....made to be used with the abyss they pair especially well IMHO with HP's that are spacious sounding

Nice! Do you have any photos? I'd love to hear some further impressions too : ) How does it sound in comparison to the Wells Audio Milo you had? Is it similar?

I do not have photos but it is pretty easy to access photos online.....they drive both the Abyss Phi or TC and the Susvara brilliantly

Little confused on the XI Audio website: is the option to add a "PowerMan External Discrete Regulation" to the XI Formula S the same as adding on the Powerman Power Supply? If yes, you save $400 which is not too shabby...

Just picked up a pre-owned Broadway which will 'introduce' me to the XI sound and perhaps a precourser to the Formula S for me. Who knows but it will be fun!

I'm very curious as well; my desktop listening is pretty much the 1266 phi cc. I'll be comparing to the v281.

the 281 is a real powerhouse, i used to own it and liked it alot...but the formula s is more nuanced and subtle...more spacious and more detailed...at least to my ears...i would be interested to know if the broadway can power the Phi or TC properly

I do not believe it does but i can tell you it will appear to you that it has because the blacker background will make the music seem louder and more dynamic....at least it did to me..i was very impressed with the changes and improvements

The Broadway upon initial listening is impressive: line-out from my SP1000 to my i4s. Sound is full bodied. Want to compare it to my V281 next using my Abyss headphones. So far, this amp is a definite 'go.' Maybe it will replace my V281s...

Not sure if I like the 11:00 volume starting placement though.

Well, I thought the Broadway was good, the Formula S w/Powerman is insane; took it to another level.

After a brief comparison with Broadway and Formula S using both i4 and 1266 phi cc, the Formula S sounds like a live concert; vocals are full-bodied, fleshy, and palpable. I'm using hi-gain.

I think it would cost a lot more money to improve. I stayed up last night till late listening to roon via hi-res files...wow.

I'm waiting for formula s and powerman. I will be comparing it to headamp gsx mini which powers the 1266 with ease.

Any noticeable loss of transparency compared to 1266 to dave direct?
