apparently it did update.. just that the reboot via the app doesn't initiate the new changes. I accessed via the Web browser and it prompted for a reboot, which did the trick.- Roasty

Thanks dude! forgot about accessing it on the Web browser. Will give it a go later! ikr! the app just refused to update the WLS. it's so inconsistent.. oh well. I'm just updating for the sake of updating. don't think I'll be streaming Spotify anyways.- Roasty

THE WATERCOOLER HEADPHONE EDITION – Headphones, Amps, DACs, and desktop/home audio related – a freewheeling discussion of gear, impressions, music, and musings.
had some free time after making some charts for work. I actually felt doing this was quite therapeutic somehow... lol. I kinda zoned out doing this chart up and was almost late for dinner with my wife. The Niagara 5000 will be a new a addition and hope to receive it in a couple of weeks. Might...- Roasty

random thoughts today.. was just thinking of the days I only had the Senn HD650 and a Little Dot MK2 tube amp and was so happy with the sound, and how i waited years to upgrade to an Audeze LCD2 and a Schiit Mjolnir. I also tried to count how much i've spent on audio and headfi since those...- Roasty

I got quoted early June too but I ordered mine with silver metalwork rather than the gold so not sure if that will lengthen delivery times.. fingers crossed. I listened to that particular unit with the vm1a and aic10 off the speaker taps. i felt it really sounded quite different from what I...- Roasty

Arctic Cables is one of my favourites. both for the product and the customer service. Norne is good too, but like u said, it's tough with the communication as well as the wait. Trevor is a good guy tho.- Roasty

hope u get a well run in demo unit. I had a listen to my friend's brand new unit and I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed. something was off with the centre imaging, and seemed like it lacked the warmth and density and low end that I heard at canjam. spoke to the local dealer about it and he...- Roasty

have a great weekend, everyone! My Riviera AIC-10 is finally on its way to me. can't wait to get it on my rack. borrowed one from a friend for a few days and fell in love with it; 1266 TC Phi sounded amazing off it, and it was the best I've heard from the Susvara. still waiting on my...- Roasty

I input the values into a parametric eq on Roon. I save it as a preset. then simply toggling on and off as and when needed.- Roasty

yes the susvara is hard to beat for tone and clarity. SolP is a different flavour; a bit darker, richer and denser imo. The oratory eq for solP improves the upper mids and highs. give it a go. I turn the EQ on and off depending on my mood and music.- Roasty

I have them too. Just prefer the TWL as they're not as stiff and easier to route. I like Pete's cables.- Roasty

Riviera AIC-10 headphones & speakers amplifier
The way I'm doing it is.. riviera Speaker cables Zynsonix adaptor box headphone cable headphone another option is to skip the adaptor box. u can get a speaker tap to 4pin female xlr adaptor cable, and then plug in your hp cable into that 4pin female xlr end.- Roasty

with the aic10, yes. it sounds good thru the normal hp out, but it's very obviously better thru the speaker taps.- Roasty

I use a zynsonix speaker tap to hp adaptor box for a bit of peace of mind. not saying it'll totally prevent any mishaps from using speaker outs to headphones, but the box is designed to reduce such incidents. of course, due care with the volume knob is always good.- Roasty

@Hiker816 i tried the melz a while back. KR is still tops for me. try and source a nice mullard ECC35 for a different flavour. it sounds great with the vm1a on triode mode. on a diff note, last night I tried Zähl HM1 as pre into the vm1a and the tone controls work great to dial down a bit of...- Roasty

get in touch with Dale at vacuumtubes. he should have some KR VT231. yes, you can use 6SL7 tubes. I've used mullard ecc35 with nice results. mid/upper mid centric sound. much more gain than 6sn7 tubes thus less turn on the volume knob too. I'm using KR VT231 and EL34 mullards on mine. have...- Roasty
