-Beautiful Design

-One of the more comfortable iems. Again, featherlight.

-Note weight is a very nice version of lean-lush

-Nice timbre for an SPD. Nice timbre period!

-The low-end has nice impact & punch

-Midrange is forward, vibrant, not dull, nice for vocals

-Non-fatiguing treble region yet with good micro-details

-Detail Retrieval

-Wide stage

-Very smooth and musical
Cons: -Not as robust a build as some would like

-Sub-bass extension isn’t perfect

-Bass could use some authority and dense weight

-Upper-mids may be too lifted for some folks

-Treble extension isn’t the best

-Stage is pretty intimate front to back, and depth slightly lacks

-Imaging isn’t perfect

-Complicated tracks can sound… complicated (at times)

New Head-Fier
Pros: Build quality and design look
xMEMS + DD
Extraordinary separation and imaging
Super detailed
Spatial soundstage
Nice bass and sub-bass texture (near basshead levels in flat)
Wireless Charging
ANC and Ambient Mode
Many codecs
Stable connection
Firmware updates
Cons: You can’t swap tips with any models you want
When you put them in the charging case, they keep the Bluetooth connection on for a while before shutting off
Some issues with EQ due to App/firmware using Amazon Music (could be my POCO but i found a solution)
No sensors for automatic pause/play
No travel bag for the charging case
Slightly white or noise floor when in ANC mode (improved with the last update)

New Head-Fier
Pros: Shell quality
Good packaging
Removable 0.78 cable
2DD + 1BA configuration
V-Shaped warm natural
Bass and sub-bass are pretty strong
Easy to drive
Cons: It doesn’t excel at anything in particular
Nozzle differences are not that noticeable
Technicalities are slightly below average
The hole on the nozzle affects the bass response and not all tips are suitable for such a minimal insertion.

Immersive sound with a choice of three bass levels via switches
Very good detail resolution
Wide soundstage
Easy to drive but responds well to amplification.
Excellent stock cable and very usable supplied tips.

TRN T tips got left behind in my ear canal!

If you ever get chance would be cool to compare to the big amps: wa23, wa33, envy, aic 10, trafomatic primavera, ha300 mk2 etc.

Great Review, Peter! Easy to read, fun to read, and extremely educational while bringing the reader into the seat of the reviewer. I particularly loved your section on design, and especially the section comparing to the HP8. Congratulations and job well done! You more than did this beautiful amp justice. I got to hear the Aegis in Dallas with AO and it was one of my highlights of the weekend. Your review personifies its great attributes.

Intriguing amp. I am surprised at the high output impedance. What dynamic headphones did you try with the amp? I agree, if meters are going to be used, a little larger size would be nice. Very nice tubes to use. All 3 are some of my favorites, having used the 6SL7 extensively (I have a huge supply of NOS) and the same goes for the GZ34 in NOS metal base, and power tubes of all types of NOS. It would be a fun amp to play with. But the output impedance would seem to be limiting.
