indeed. IMO means “in my opinion” btw..It's YOUR opinion dude. People don't necessarily need to follow what you're saying. Others not like you like to experiment with stuff they bought with their own money.

I think your solution is great as wellusing a dap just as a digital transfer IMO is the worst of all worlds. A huge part of the appeal, surely, is to do away with dongles and just have a single thing you can plug into and get great sound.

I can see merit in connecting the FC6 to the player, if they don't need to excess amplification power of the R4, do want the DSP options of the R4 (which AFAIK can be exported via USB) and don't mind the added bulk. Heck, the battery might last longer this way. And who knows, he might even prefer the DAC sound of the FC6, which is entirely a personal matter?

I thought so. I can make it work.
Do you mean this screen? There is no USB audio out.As @Joe Bloggs explained in this thread (page 28), it's just a plug-and-play thing.
Go to Settings > Audio > USB Audio and enable "USB Audio Output". Enjoy!

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for the validation. Some of our fellow enthusiasts here are just too stuck up to break tradition or try things out for themselves before making condescending comments on other people's post ( super not helpful). I guess this nsight can only come from someone who knows these products intimately by design and experience. And by that, I mean you.I can see merit in connecting the FC6 to the player, if they don't need to excess amplification power of the R4, do want the DSP options of the R4 (which AFAIK can be exported via USB) and don't mind the added bulk. Well, the other guy did say "IMO", you also don't need to react so strongly to that. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for the validation. Plugging a USB audio device to the USB port of the R4 is plug-and-play.I thought so. I can make it work.

HiBy Music would come up with a prompt asking if you want to grant it exclusive control over the device. Select Yes if you want to play music on that app only, and want bit perfect audio. Otherwise select No. This goes for all other apps giving such a prompt.

Seems like I ruffled some feathers lol. Nothing personal meant, of course. Just an opinion - which is of course what we’re all doing here: sharing perspectives and opinions.

Fair enough.Well, the other guy did say "IMO", you also don't need to react so strongly to that.

I also use R3II as a source for my W4 when I sit down and listen. Battery seems to last roughly as long as onboard DAC and amp. Running FC6 from a R3II or R4 seems like an interesting option. A bit different flavour once in a whileI can see merit in connecting the FC6 to the player, if they don't need to excess amplification power of the R4, do want the DSP options of the R4 (which AFAIK can be exported via USB) and don't mind the added bulk. Good afternoon,
I was hoping someone would be able to help me with two questions I have for the Hiby.
I'm using Xduoo TA 22 (tube+Dac) at home, and was wondering if the R4 would be a suitable alternative for a solid state source? (in a home desk setup)
And while traveling, a Shanliong M0 pro; while I simply adore the design and tiny footprint, such a small battery really does have its limitations, even more so on high-gain. I would buy it for the bigger battery, but would there be much sonic improvement from this dap to Hibys'?
Kind regards,
Jack

Yeah, i finally gave in to trying out the new official firmware and I can observe thaf it doesn't cause the r4 to heat up as much. Good job Hiby!Has anyone else seen better performance with the current firmware 1.11_20240530-1235 ? I’m showing better thermals since updating. “quiet-therm-adc” seems be much lower than normal. Below 35°C. Could be because it’s much cooler here in Australia due to winter. But curious if anyone else has noticed ?
Yeah HiBy has impressed me over this roll out of the R4. I’d say it’s been challenging to say the least with this product launch , with various factors. ( EU regulation, different units for different countries , firmware bugs, etc) But as soon as a problem arises , they are on top of it. They go so far as to broadcast on all social media and forums like reddit and head-fi to get the ‘fix information’ out there. I have to say I’m a Fan. Well Done HiBy.!Good job Hiby!
