Sony Z1R....listening impressions only

I'm curious...is that the Geekria headband cover I saw linked upthread, ohhh, many moons ago? hahahaha

I'm mindful of the more delicate synthetic material on the underside of the headband, so I plan to get something like that to try to protect it.

It's this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CBKGFX7N/. It fits very well, I recommend it.

(apologies for posting about this cover for the third time for those who have seen it already)

has anyone tried the ZMF co-pilot on the Z1R? The crescent snap pad isn’t wide enough, so it’s on my MV1 right now (& it’s amazingly comfy.)

I did. Old co-pilot and new one with the stretch material. It doesn't fit the Z1R headband, hence I went for the other option as a last resort and was pleasantly surprised.

@CaptainFantastic Thanks; just ordered the headband cover

---------------

Curious if anyone here has tried this particular cable? After having read/skimmed this entire thread (finished just now while on a conference call, LOL), I don't recall this one being mentioned---> LQi Cables, Claris model; 100% UP-OCC silver.

Configured as I'd want (6 ft.; locking 3.5mm connectors; 4-pin XLR amp side connector), *relatively* reasonable priced @ $420 (nice...) https://lqicables.com/products/claris-series-100-silver-headphone-cable

It's hard to say how good it is since there is no mention of construction, litz type, number of strands and awg.

Finally have had about an hour to listen....and yeah, now I get why these are so polarizing. TBC, I am instantly smitten. That said, I understand now. These are not for neutral-seekers, or Harman tuning lovers for sure. I can tell already: I'm gonna **LOVE** these for listening to music. Not dissecting music or evaluating gear, but pure listening enjoyment.

I look forward to seeing how these further acclimate over the next couple weeks and 200 hours of burn-in/use.

I like MDR-CD3000 more than Z1R
I did try them and the R10 about 15-20 years ago and at that time they did not wow me compared to the Audio-Technica ATH-L3000 I owned at that time but I would love to try them all today against the Z1R and see what my feelings would be now

Enjoy! Best headphone for getting every bit of emotion out of your music.

(And it's flying massively under the radar these days because of its age and because the kids are only interested in the latest offerings.)

That's a match made in heaven!
