Review Of The 7Hz Eternal

Introduction

7hz Eternal is a dynamic driver IEM released by a Chinese company 7hz. 7hz is the same company who also released the infamous 7hz Timeless, a planar magnetic IEM. Like before as I have mentioned, Other than the above mentioned IEMs, In 7hz's arsenal of IEMs, i77, i88, i99 with their mini model were also released by the company.

*Thanks to HiFiGo team as this unit tour has been arranged by HiFiGo, lovely people. And as mentioned in all of my reviews, same goes with this one too and that is, each and every thoughts below mentioned are my personal own thoughts and they are not fiddled with any outside influences. The following link is where you can go and own one for yourself :-

*I will be referring these IEMs to as 'Eternal' for the rest of the review.

*And at last I will only be reviewing the Eternal on the basis of their performance, I do not care what these are made of or packaged with when newly purchased unless it affects the sound in any sense what so ever.

Specification

Eternal is a dynamic driver IEM which houses large 14.2mm Liquid Crystal Polymer diaphragms with powerful N52 magnets. These have an impendence of 30 ohms and sensitivity of 109db/1khz. The frequency response is from 10Hz to 20kHz.

Sound

Okay, so the 7hz Eternal is a very balanced tuned IEM. I don't know why I feel like there is no life to he low region but it exists, not in a bad way but not in a good way either. The mid range are very forward like any other balanced set the upper mids lives in front. The treble sparkles the way with lively presence. I find the Eternal more energetic, more cleaner but low performing in the technical aspects.

221BAD65-D15A-4DFA-BC39-304E62DF30DE.jpeg

Treble

The treble response on this IEM is lively and energetic. The Eternals have a limited space to breath in the upper treble but still sounds crisps and clean. Although the extension is not that great. When comparing with it's sister Timeless, I find that the Timeless are much smoother and fuller sound but that up to the taste. And yes obviously with the advantage of being a planar IEM, The Timeless resovles pretty much great in this region. The vocals in this region sounds more like digitally filtered. This doesn't mean the vocals sounds bad or unbearable. They are quite nice but to my taste, they aren't felt naturally produced.

Mid Range

Coming to it's performance in Mid range region. They are very forward more expressing and more sibilant I suppose. if one would want to buy anIEM with mid centric preference, well this set is very revealing in the mid region. Not only the vocals but the guitars, the synths, everything sounds very revealing and in your face. Sometimes I find the upper mid range sibilant and especially in between 1k-6k region.
The upper mid range resolves vocals beautifully but it is too much. The clean presentation here doesn't help with the intimate sound and sibilance produced. Although the guitar being lean, sounds very exciting and revealing. The upper mid range is prominent in mix mix. Any one listening to this IEM will definitely realize it is upper mid range focused and it does it's best to deliver the best vocals but not necessarily the finest or smoothest.
The lower mid range are overshadowed by upper mid range's performance. Due to this the notes are lean in the upper region and tight. Also the lower region is not so forward sounding and the upper region sound a bit harsh and bright to my taste.

Bass

The bass is really well done. The extension in sub bass region sounds deep and clean but not rumbling. Same goes for the mid bass have a presence but doesn’t feel thick or slamming. I feel that it is very well controlled to an extend that the bass produces tight and accurate punches, if there are any. Only my complain is with the senseless and lifeless representation of bass and other it messes with the mix when the upper mid range become prominent and take stage.
To be honest I find the bass done here is better than the timeless but I would also like to mention that even if the bass on timeless is bloated sounding, it feels organic thick and real to me. Well too much real to be exact.

Technical Performance

The technical aspect of the Eternal is not so great. They are so and ao, mediocre to say the most. And presents itself smooth and soft in presentation. The soundstage is mostly towards left and right. I find the separation of vocals to be precise as when mid range start living in the mix other plays in the background.

7FB2CB82-E4D2-4028-BC5D-8448B1B82735.jpeg

Soundstage, Sound Imaging & Separation

The soundstage is narrow very close and intimate sounding which also messes with the mix and sounds congested at some times but as the upper mid range are very prominent and overshadows all over all frequency, masks the congestion and sounds okay. The imaging is really not so good. Well my previous experiences with LCP drivers have already taught me of the 3d holographic imaging being mostly towards left and right. The stereo reproduction is the worst in the Eternal. I find the best done on the Moondrop Aria. Also the separation is vague, very close and overlapping or over layering. The each and every distinct sound produce is overlapping each other and doesn't express itself out and the vocals being manipulative, when it starts to become chaos, every other element goes into the background. Doing so doesn't let the quality to drop down or the details to sound bad.

Speed & Resolution

the attacks and decays of notes are average as expected from a dynamic driver. But quite escapes away in the dynamic range. Maybe the reason is the mid range too forward in the mix. The vocals sounds same have no resolution or a distinct sense or feel to every notes. The resolution is greatly appreciated here as it is not being richer or fuller but it is cleaner.

Conclusion

To be honest, The 7hz Eternal is a magestic vocal empress in its price range or below. And with the bass being controlled really great with the sense of depth. It is clearly not for a basshead but for a pure mid centric audiophile who loves vocals and the ability to listen everything in the mix.
Well it is worth a try if you can afford. Although I quite haven’t said this and doesn’t mean I am judging it on this basis, But the iem shell and colour is so beautiful. They look absolute gorgeous.
I’d recommend this to those who wants to listen a balanced sound with majestic vocals and excellent sounding instruments around it.

Review Of The 7Hz Timeless

2.jpg

Introduction

The 7Hz Timeless is a planar magnetic IEM by a Chinese company 7hz. This is their first attempt on a planar magnetic IEM which is a success as they are one of the best planar IEMs, maybe in fact the best IEM under $300. Till date there is no other IEM under $300 have better technical resolvability. Other than the 7hz Timeless they released i77, i88, i99 with their mini model as well as their recent launch 7hz Eternal. None of which I have auditioned or owned. Coming back to the Timeless, these are priced at $220-$225 at the following below:-

*This is my own purchased unit, each and every thoughts below mentioned are my personal own thoughts and they are not fiddled with any outside influences.
*I do not own or have heard any other planar IEM's, so these are reviewed on their own performance.
*I will be comparing these with couple of my favorites Yume Midnight and Moondrop Blessing 2.
*I will be referring these IEMs to as 'Timeless' for the rest of the review.
*And at last I will only be reviewing the Timeless on the basis of their performance, I do not care what these are made of or packaged with when newly purchased unless it affects the sound in any sense what so ever.

Specifications

Timeless is a full planar magnetic IEM which houses a 14.2 mm planar magnetic driver which have a double sided array of N52 magnets and a 2mm ultra thin diaphragm. These have an impendence of 14.8 ohms and sensitivity of 104db. The frequency response is from 5Hz to 40kHz.

Sound

Timeless have a V-Shape sound signature, as it houses a planar magnetic IEM, the response you get from these is fast, resolved and detailed. They have great treble extension and great resolving power and at the same time being warm and natural sounding.

1.jpg

Treble

The Timeless's treble have forward treble presentation. It has shrill sound with more ss's and tt's pronounced in the mix. although being very well extended in the treble still feels soft. I find the air in the blessing 2 a little bit dry than the timeless. Also Moondrop blessing 2 have less presence in the treble than the timeless. Every element in the treble region works very well and provide better tonal performance and technicality when it comes to Moondrop blessing 2. To be honest I find the blessing 2 much better tuned. Timeless is overall better in every aspect than the female vocals while comparing to the Yume midnight. The female vocals have more natural reach when it comes to blessing 2. When it comes to a little more happening in the treble, the vocals are drowned in treble with timeless whereas blessing 2 performs eloquently and precisely which results in more details and resolution. Obviously they both are tuned very differently. Although the tonal integrity of Moondrop blessing 2 in sound is not lost overall except the dryness felt in the treble air above 8-10k region and I find the characteristics to keep it all along the spectrum wonderfully, where the timeless being v shaped in sound. The Timeless do sound detailed and fine sounding disregarding that much bass. I agree on Timeless not being clean or analytical but it doesn't want to be.

Mid Range

Like with the treble the timeless is very much forward with the mids especially the upper mids. The upper mids are shouty and really hot. Everything is so in front in your face (figuratively speaking) that the sound is intimate and close with presentation. Every element tries to take the front seat. there is really no placing or separation of instruments or vocals in the mix. There is more space for every element to breathe and play their role while listening to blessing 2 but not with timeless. The vocals sound lean and feels like at higher octaves the female vocals distort. There is a definite stage in blessing 2, there is more happening in the above and below when comparing to the timeless. Female have a more natural feel to it with Yume midnight. Whereas the lower mids feels fuller more upbringing, I find the lower octaves of female vocals in this region while listening to timeless much better than in the upper mids and treble. The overall presentation is better in all aspects in this region while listening to timeless.

Bass

When it comes to mid bass timeless sound thick and slams really hard, although being this thick sounding the lower octaves of vocals drowns due to the over bloated bass. the sense of humming on timeless have a good amount of note weight almost feels musical and natural. Very submissive bass response. comparing to the Moondrop blessing 2 and the Yume midnight the bass they produce is very controlled never takes on charge like timeless and never does feel like complete mostly in Yume midnight. The bass acting on the timeless hits fast but even though it tries to recover or decay it gets messy but maintains it's harmonic values. The Yume midnight and the Moondrop blessing 2 have a great stage for every element to breathe where as sounding musical I find it a little congested. In the bass region, when it comes to timeless the mid bass have the authoritative hand while sub bass goes with it. The sub bass extends very well but Yume have much better extension. Blessing 2 has very well and detailed bass overall.

Technical Performance

Timeless exceeds in every aspect in technical performance comparing to the Yume midnight. The Moondrops are a level up from Timeless. Timeless being a planar magnetic IEM, it has all properties of what a planar does. Being very precise have a good layering separation and soundstage and also trying to achieve a quarter in space in doing something new in bass region becoming what a planar wasn't expected to be. There is some kind of power and energy which is very unique to ears about the planar
especially when it it is coming from an IEM.

4.jpg

Soundstage, Sound Imaging & Separation

there is a sense of wide separation between instruments and vocals in regions where you might not find it happening. I am not saying it is the best coming to an iem in this price range, for that check out the final audio a4000 in stage department they will blow your socks off, but they are really good in staging. The layering is okayish to be honest, while comparing to the Yume midnight and the Moondrop blessing 2. The separation is quite the level of Yume midnight, not too spacious sounding nor too close. Although very easy to point out where the sound is coming from. The presentation is not entirely all around like the blessing 2. but better than the Yume midnight.

Speed & Resolution

The planar, like I said before are very fast in presentation, the details retrieval is astonishingly good. the notes hits really hard with density and decays smoothly. It doesn't precisely execute sounds the way it should but tries to keep it clean. But for the price they come in they have the best resolution under $300. Although for a planar to keep up with this profound sense of warmth and tonality while outproducing this much technical performance is marvelous.

Conclusion

Definitely Timeless are worth the price, they are engaging and fun sounding IEMs with sub par technical performance and tonal attributes which makes it sound more natural and warm. 7hz's take on a planar is really unique and they have found so much excellence with this IEM. Where it's sublime nature of producing sounds so resolving with extended length

Introduction

See audio X Crinacle Yume Midnight is a collaboration project by See Audio with Crinacle. It is an upgrade or side grade( as See Audio is still selling the Yume) to the OG See Audio Yume. These IEM's are tuned by an IEM Reviewer and also a youtuber famously known as Crinacle. He is also known to have the largest database of frequency response graph of IEM's and headphones on his website www.crinacle.com. These are only available exclusively at HiFiGo website.

*I do not own or have heard the OG Yume, so these are reviewed on their performance.
*I will be comparing these with my own personal favorite TRI Starsea and 7HZ Timeless.
*I will be referring to these IEMs to as 'Midnight' for the rest of the review.
*And at last I will only be reviewing the Midnight on the basis of their performance, I do not care what these are made of or packaged with when newly purchased unless it affects the sound in any sense what so ever.

Specifications

Midnight are a three driver configuration driver setup. Two Knowles custom-tuned balanced armature drivers and one 9.2mm liquid-silicone diaphragm dynamic driver .The custom tuned BAs are producing and handling High and mid range frequencies where the dynamic driver producing low frequencies. These have an impendence of 32 ohms and sensitivity of 106db. The frequency response is from 20Hz to 20kHz.
a.jpg

Sound

These sound more like Harminish-neutral, these have neutral with bass boost sound signature. The emphasis is on the sub bass rather than the mid bass. Both treble and bass extension is good, being the sub bass clean and deep and the treble although being soft, they are forward and their presence is well extended, especially the vocals. The dynamic range is really large while persisting dense notes.

Treble

The treble is really well done on the midnight, they are crispy bright and lively. Vocals shines quite bright in these region, especially the layering and stage is much better if compared to the TRI Starsea. But Timeless have much better imaging and resolution. Although being more shouty and sibilant than the TRI Starsea, I found they sounded more leaner but cleaner. The female vocals are dense and are more intimate than the Timeless and better in all over performance than the TRI Starsea. Midnight do have tonal advantage over the Timeless. In instances where there is a lot of happening in the treble, the vocals are messed up by the cymbal crashes, here is where the timeless shines and out performs. Being the BA's producing the sound, while providing that air in the mix doesn't feel dry.

Mid Range

The upper mid range is forward in the mix, bringing out more details , a defined stage presence than the TRI Starsea. On the other hand the technical aspects are much better on the timeless as the Timeless have much better stage and imaging. But coming back to the upper mid range the vocals of Midnight outperforms both in resolution and dynamics . Upper mid range could be a little bit hot on the midnight for some, But timeless is hotter if compared.
The lower mid range is eccentric and rich, notes are weighed dense and clear, the instruments shines with the vocals on the Midnight. The tonal pride, midnight takes on over the TRI Starsea and Timeless keeps it No.1. The vocals are a bit pulled back on the TRI Starsea than the midnight and keeping the instrument well defined although the Timeless is much better with overall aspects in this region. Timeless loses to midnight when it comes to the vocals but other than that they both feels the same.

Bass

Like mentioned above these are tuned to a neutral with bass boost sound signature focusing more in the sub bass region, the mid bass is cleaner doesn't bleed into or bloat over the lower mids. keeping the lower mids clean. Although the warmth in this region is only felt in TRI Starsea. The bass pulls are more natural on the TRI Starsea, but on the other hand, the midnight have more spaces in between the instruments. The presentation is soft on the TRI Starsea. When compared to Timeless, the bass is poor. The lower vocal notes drowns in the mix whereas the midnights saves them especially female vocals. The presentation is fast and punchy but decay is better on the TRI Starsea and best on the Midnight. The sub bass on the Midnight s punchy, fast and controlled but doesn't feel fuller like the TRI Starsea produce, Yes the TRI Starsea is less resolving but feels more natural than the Midnight. Coming back to the Timeless although the bass is messy and bloated, the harmonic value doesn't get affected. In fact better than the Midnight.

Technical Performance

Technically the Midnight outperforms every IEMs in it's price bracket except for the timeless if I had to exaggerate. To be honest the technical performance is just a level below the Timeless in my opinion. Obviously Midnight out resolves the TRI Starsea.

Soundstage, Sound Imaging & Separation

The soundstage is average, the vocals are placed very nicely, the instruments have more of a 3D positioning and the sound is more left and right in presentation. The Midnight produce great separation in between instruments and the vocals and the imaging is quite good actually, easy to pin point where the sound of instruments and vocals are coming from. The layering doesn't affect the vocals or instruments, by which I meant that it doesn't sound any congested sound reproduction or any instrument tethering the sound of the other.

Speed & Resolution

The midnight almost resolves the micro and macro details the best at this price point. The synergy between all three drivers outputs a great resolution with speed and sounding more realistic and more natural towards the attack and decay of the notes especially in the highs and the lows region.

Conclusion

The Midnight are magnificent in the vocals around $200, maybe even in $300 price category. The Bass is very well extended and controlled, being punchy rather than slamming in character. The treble sparkles and shines through out the mix, also complementing the vocals to the fullest. Overall a lively, energetic and beautiful sounding IEM.

Review Of Tripowin Lea
Pros: Natural sounding, Great Mids, Beautifully tuned IEM.
Cons: Bass Quantity, Treble Extension, Shouty Upper Mids
General Specification

Drivers 10mm LCP Dynamic Drivers
Connectors 0.78mm Two Pin
Sensitivity 105+_3db
Impedance 32 Ohms
Frequency Response 20hz- 20khz
Cable 1.2mm Silver Plated Cable (3.5mm jack termination)

In The Box

The Tripowin Lea,
Cable,
Earhooks,
Three Pairs of Silicon Eartips( Small, Medium, Large)

Let's Talk About Sound

The Lea has a neutral with bass boost sound signature.

Bass - The bass isn't so textured but have a good quality to it, it is not overpowering but it is clean, it does bleed a lil bit into the lower midrange. The bass is more sub bass focus. You do feel the rumble but the bass is not so punchy and doesn't slam. All in all, the Bass is enough to have it's a presence.
Midrange - The midrange is clean but relaxed, really well done especially in the upper midrange. The vocals of male and female are more natural than artificial. Also the upper midrange can be shouty for some.
Highs - The highs are crisp but aren't sibilant there is no sharpness. Also their is not so much air in the sound, basically the treble extension is just okay.
Soundstage - The soundstage is quite open and wide enough, mostly left and right focused.
Sound Imaging - The sound imaging is really nice, have shallow depth and layering is not quite congested for the price these come in and the detail retrieval isn't quite this pair's charm.
Overall - .

Conclusion
Overall the Tripowin Lea are tonally beautifully tuned, the rumbly bass, the natural midrange and great highs. But when it comes to technical performance, Lea would've been better and almost the best in the price range they are available. For $25 dollars, the are most natural sounding IEM's under $30.
