The question is: if people are happy with Tera,AK240 SS, how much better things can be?
I am talking purely about sound quality, isn't there a limit even with unlimited resources?
Even if the whole chassis is gold plated don't think that will help much!

When I bought my AK240SS at Can Jam, one of the sales rep slipped and said something about a new model being release in May, but I love the SS so much that I didn't care.  Now that I looked at the picture, I am even more glad.  I think the old style is so much more stylistic than the new look.  True, the new one (380) may be better than the 240 but I am so happy with my 240ss I doubt that it will be significantly better.  Even if it is better, I doubt that it will be better than my 240SS/Hugo combo which took away some of the brightness or harshness away from the 240ss to make it real fine.

The price of this will be easily £3000, so i don't think it will be worth it no matter how good it sounds.
Maybe the battery life is longer this time?
Longer i mean at least 15 h for DSD

all depends on people and what u think is an upgrade, for me justifying the 3k price would be impossible... i would happily jump on the paw gold or plenue 1 and be happy..  but then again if its going to keep u wondering what if i would have spent more and got the AK haha then thats just a crazy unending cycle .. all i think everyone here needs to sort their priorities and figure out what they really need/want.
 
but then again this is head-fi. lol nothing is too expensive here. hahaha

I don't know how ss240 owners will feel if the price was close to ss240, but really by the time ak reach ak660 it will be like a 10,000 usd dap

If it is in not in stainless steel, that'll be a slap in the face of AK240SS owners.
If it is in stainless steel, being a first iteration, then there will be a AK380 Mk2 shortly thereafter, going by AK's track record.
