I cannot get the xdsd to work in bt mode. Been trying all day. The unit has never been paired via bt.

From the manual, and specifically what doesn’t work on my unit:

”If a stored device is not found, it will automatically enter pairing mode (INPUT: Blue/Red blinking).”

Maybe you have ot set to USB mode? When you turn it on it needs to have blue light on, if it's green it's in USB mode. Just power it on and keep the power button pressed until it's blue.

Thanks, but it is in blue, blinking mode. I just can’t get it to blink blue/red and to appear visible in my iPhone.

Yes the button works fine for 3d/bass but nothing happens when I press it longer for the bt function

my xdsd was previously "retired" by my hiby dap and ifi zen dacv2.

but my zen dacv2 only has usb in, whereas my new wiim pro only have spdif and coax.
turns out xdsd's older burr brown dsd1793 chip still sounds better than wiim's (newer?) burr brown pcm-5121.

so for now, xdsd serves as a desktop streamer dac

I do not think that the old burr brown has any relationship with the new burr brown from texas instruments.

I miss the ifi burr brown magic. I used my xdsd for reviewing testing purposes yesteday and oh my god. Is so musical and organic.

I suspect that is not very energy efficient this is why ifi has not attempted to use it in a usb dongle.

Hello, is this the xdsd thread? Does anyone at Ifi actually look at this? Hello?

I just bought a new xdsd from Amazon and I’m wondering if I need to update the firmware? It’s brand new and has a type C charging port. I just want to know which firmware it came out of the factory with, and if it can be checked over blue tooth on Android or iPad? Is it 5.3c GTO? Also, since this is a TRRS jack, I assume this supports both balanced and S-balanced. It states specifically that the two amps maintain discrete grounds right into the 3.5 mm jack, so is it balanced? Also, what’s the formula for determining milliwatts output into say, 80 ohm headphones, single ended and balanced? I’m getting 55 milliwatts and 110 milliwatts respectively, assuming 2.1 volts out s-balanced and 4.2 volts out balanced. I’m using volts squared divided by ohms times 1000 for milliwatts, but I need some verification.

Hello everyone! Can I use my sony xba-a3 with 4.4 mm cable with this if I get an adapter? Thanks in advance. I thought it had 4.4 mm out, actually it is the gryphon which has it.

Source-SE->BAL headphone is OKAY
Source-BAL->SE headphone is NOT OKAY

So in this case an adapter is fine, as it'll cross your R- and L- wires to common ground from the xDSD.
