Is a $500 range DAC/Amp a significant upgrade from a Frankenzero w/ OP earth, LT136?

Basically my topic question. That unsettled itch has returned once more. Or the Zero has new caps too.
I also have my pico DAC/amp, which sounds great, but doesn't have a line-out. So, while it sounds great, I have no way to make a control test to decide if the Zero or pico is better. Oh, I also have my HM-801, but that is my portable audio. With the pico amping it (I love the pico's colorization of the sound; sounds just like my Darkvoice 336; to the point I sold off my darkvoice).

Hmm...now that I think about it, I should have put this in the 'source' section. Even though it's DAC/Amp combo unit I am discussing.

If a new DAC of that range is not a significant (Or should I just stick with the pico), can someone suggest me new caps to put in the Zero, because I seem to have a bulging one at the moment.
