Digital EQ is not an inherently lossy process. Most would not alter the data even one bit if set to on without settings. Your brain is playing tricks on your ears.

Hell, I can't find one single set of transducers in the world that DSP can't improve on, loudspeaker or earphones, so I guess I would find the sound mystically inferior, whenever I see the EQ button off, even if nothing's been dialed in for the EQ yet? 😆

The main reason for that is the high Q resonance peaks found on almost all IEMs above 4kHz (which may or may not show up in coupler measurements which have smoothing applied to them). Which physical mods can in most cases do nothing about, unless you can live with a long cork of foam in your nozzles together with foam eartips to make sure that no sound waves bounce back. And then, good luck getting a good tonal balance from such a configuration without EQ 😆

Of course, one cannot use EQ to negate such resonances, unless one knows how to listen for and tune them out via interactive tone generator testing, so maybe this doesn't apply to most people.

(the above are personal opinions only, not representing that of any company)
Would I be right in thinking that EQ can be good unless you EQ right at the crossover point of multiple drivers (where applicable)? I feel crossover points are the areas that should be handled very carefully.
How do we know where those XO points are? We don't. But my guess would be that you'd be safe to EQ, say, a DD in a hybrid/tribrid setup up to 200hz without any adverse effect on other drivers.
I might be linking this too much to my car audio experience.

Those Lavricables look so clean. Are they really that bright white or have some kind of white sleeving? The cable pics on their website look way more silvery.
The one I have here is more blue/silver than their normal silver version.

Photo here is quite accurate took it without photo lights so it's a little warmer maybe.

That is so phone / amp thickness dependant, few mm differences will give a gap between phone and the amp and will put too much force to the inner usb c female connector, unless it is adjustable.

Not exactly as your imagination but Sony XBA-Z5 have giant 16mm DD inherited from EX1000 with additional 2 BAs handling mids and trebles. They are quite impactful but too much mid bass bleed for me (even the bleeds are from the BA)
Agreed. Bleed. Huge disappointment for me. I was so stoked to get it when it was getting so much hype, and it still ranks as one of the most disappointing IEMs. The treble was lush and gorgeous, but the bass was all about boom and bleed. FAIL.

I'll let it glide past the rule 😉
Crimson is really interesting, it's on my IEM bucket list to try. I love all BA or BA+EST when it's tuned good, might be that Crimson is borderline to bright for me. But never know before you try.

Oh hiby Yvain is that good eh? Thought P8 or Magicone pip it. Yvain is bit under the radar then.

I cannot post the photos of mine as I do not have all of them with me, so I will just list the names:
  • Alpha Omega Ra
  • Technics EAH-TZ700
  • Pula PA02
  • Simgot EA1000
I had to add the EA1000 as 4th, as the list would not have been complete without it.

Yvain is … quirky. I love it for classical recordings. MagicOne and P8 are safer and saner choices for most people

Edit: @Leonarfd idk, I don’t find the Crimson offensively bright. I compared the same track using Crimson, and Gaea and found that the cymbals, hats, and bells are actually more subdued with the crimson

Considering that with promos pink bag is $16.99 and golden is $22.99, perhaps something in 50$ price range?
They said on twitter it's an old product so maybe something like Sakura, HiCotton or 7NBEE cables (just guessing by colors and 7N cables available in their store offers)
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/low...ng-for-buck-cable-thread.891911/post-18026746

Speaking of inflated prices, ZiSin-27 cable is available for 9.9$ with promo code that IvipQ distribute on their twitter
https://twitter.com/gongipq7829/status/1768633909972172802
Any of you were able to get the code? I have retweeted the post but haven't got any yet.
