That sounds very promising! Good to hear. The Beyers are so comfy, I'm imagining the X2s must be like clouds on your ears.

If I can get my hands on the X1 for cheap, I'm definitely going to try them out against my DT-990. I'll still wait for the X2 and give that an audition, but at depending on the timing it may be going up against its former self in the X1 (if the X1 dethrones my DT-990 for movie sound).

I've already got the "harsh highs" with the DT-990, though I don't actually find them harsh, just bright. He400 seems so uncomfortable that I'm not sure it's worth trying. He400i seems to have solved the comfort issue but lessened the bass.   Interesting aside: the DT-990 (2005 version) thread...
