I totally agree; that would be turning the logic upside down. Except for LCD-4 vs LCD-4Z, where the latter, according to Audeze, is a redesign of the 4's 200 Ohm driver, to me (YMMV etc) with small trade-offs... For LCD-5 driveability was a clear design goal. That makes me wonder if compromises...

Hmm now I suspect actual (mean) power draw of the headphones is being confused with maximum power output of an amp. Which is completely dependant on the amp design and can be absolutely non linear (cfr. my Auralic Taurus Mk2)
