I don't really like the feeling of anything inside my ears, just personal preference. Although I've only owned cheap earbuds. So probably over the ear, I'm so used to thse 555s....

Hmm, how about just noise isolation? I'm sorry -- I guess I'm newb.

What about a pair that doesn't require a battery?

Been looking around for a decent pair of NC cans for a bit now..could use some extra help. Right now I'm using the Senn HD555s and they are pretty awesome,  but I need something that isolates background noise / cancellation. My roommate shares an office with me, and it can be hard to focus...

Right now I'm using the Sennheiser HD555 headphones. They are pretty nice, as I've had them for awhile now and have had no complaints. They are comfortable, good sound quality and I use them for music, gaming and video entertainment. What I need now is something on par, or maybe even better...

Not a huge fan of USED anything. I guess that's just me...

Any recommendations as to where I could pickup the V-MODA M80s? Not sure if Amazon is the ideal place nor the pratical solution. Just curious as to what alternatives may be available for maximizing price variance.

Good ON-EAR Headphones?  Looking for a pair to haul around campus with me...not a huge fan of "earbuds" as I don't like things "inside" my ears. They will be used for music on my iPod and laptop (nothing fancy). Chill-Out Radio on Pandora is a good example of music that I'd most likely...

I just did the tape mod to my HD555's....going to stick with them for now. As far as the sound card goes, I might go with the Z....but what is the difference between that and the Zx?  

Yeah, I was actually looking at the Z earlier and someone else had recommended it to me.  

But aren't there sound cards out there that have built in headphone amps? I use my speakers too so I want something for both speakers and headphones....but mainly I use the headphones!
