We call that "personal taste" around here. I have friends who like M23, and I have friends who hate it too. I guess too bad you just don't understand the concept of subjectivity. Whatever floats your boat, man. I wish you good luck finding your ideal DAP.

Remember what I replied to your DM to me? I think you just like warmer sources. I guess I wasn't wrong.

So far I have tested 4 units of M23 (two at Canjam SG - alu and SS, my personal unit, and a friend's unit), they all do not exhibit the issue described in the video. I doubt it is a widespread issue, but I'd be interested to know what's the cause though.

@laleeee I think this is the third time you are asking people whether M23 "sounds thin" or not. I think you should just find a demo unit somewhere and try it yourself. And as I replied to you previously, no, M23 doesn't sound thin to me (even before the update), only for some difficult pairings...

Finally I've finished my M23 review. Coming from M11S, I really enjoy the experience after some initial trepidation. Keep up the good work FiiO! https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/fiio-m23.27179/reviews#review-33864

Review by 'inscythe' on item 'FiiO M23'

Introduction I was never a big “brick” DAP person. In the past, I have owned some cheap small MP3 players from Creative and Sandisk, but in the end I invested more in desktop setup. It all changed when I bought a FiiO M11S about 1.5 years ago. Having an Android-based player with great battery...

I have the Jijujet-2, and I have to say that while it is super weird to see, it is pretty comfortable. I can imagine this happening to the creator of this tip

https://www.instagram.com/p/C5FYghkNeb4/ Oh damn! Just saw that Project Perfection is having another gacha for eartips/IEMs again this year! Last year, I missed out on the top prizes, but I ended up with a bunch of Final Type E tips for the year lol Now that my Final Type E tips are running...

    The discovery thread!

Just tried the Titan a couple of days ago, decided to wait to see what still remains after getting hyped quite a bit then. This is really a basshead's bassy IEM, crazy how much subbass this delivers. It is really not to my cup of tea, but I can see some people will be extremely pleased with it...

    SOUNDAWARE MDA3(E) : Reference-level Portable USB DAC&AMP

Technicality on par with W4. Dynamics are also similar. I find that W4 is a tad more musical in presentation, with MDA3 taking a more clean, accurate presentation. I think they're not a direct replacement of each other. I don't like DC-Elite... It's quite technical as well, but the sound...

You're not alone. I also don't like EM6L. Crin seems to be more partial towards hybrids anyway.

DITA Audio Project M Discussion Thread

Tonally different. Monarch has that very clean presentation with that distinct layering between bass-mids-treble, making each frequency range to be very detailed and layered yet balanced. Project M is a bit more blended with more focus on upper mids and treble, but that nudges it to be more...
