    [Q] ATH-700 driver replacement

I been having some audio issues with my ATH-700 after a year of use. The right cup is slightly louder than the left cup. The difference is minimal but noticeable and it's been driving me nuts. I've tired different audio source with little difference. When I switched the headphones around, left...

    AD700 grill pad

Quote: Hmm interesting. Well I guess I'm half way through the mod. Any idea what he added on top of the driver? I remember when I took apart the headphone, it had a metal ring in the center and there was no tin foil kind thing around it.

    AD700 grill pad

Quote: You are prob right as these headphones already have enough treble and lack the bass. I'm not sure what blue-tack mod you're talking about, I couldn't find the post.

Quote: Well I'm waiting for my ATH-AD700 to ship to me, along with X-FI titanium sound card, would that be a good combo? Btw I tested out the 2220B with my RP-HTX7 headphone, I know they are cheap and all but I couldn't really tell the difference. I can adjust the nobs for bass, mid...

Marantz 2220B Stereo Receiver as an amp?

I've recently purchased a Creative X-FI Titanium sound card along with ATH-AD700 headphone, my desktop audio experience is almost complete except I'm missing an amp. After searching on the internet, I realized that my dad has a vintage FM receiver, the Marantz 2220B, that that be used as an amp...
