Picked up a pair from Newegg yesterday, looking forward to trying them out.  Rebate period ends today so better get them by today if you want them.

I think they sound great too, needed burn in though to open up.

I wouldn't say muffled, maybe recessed, or "full" sounding.

They need to burn in, 150 hours.

Rec'd my K7xx's today from the last drop, awaiting the Magni 2 I picked up on Sunday.  Looking forward to the combo, and comparing the 598SE's to the K7xx's.

Well,   just pulled the trigger and bought a pair of HD598SE's, and signed up for the K7xx on Massdrop.   I guess I will be eating box mac & cheese for the next couple weeks..............

Hi everyone,   looking for some input if I could.  How would the 598's be with blues (Cray, McClain, BB, Clapton, etc. with rthymn bass) as well as with acoustics/vocals (Jackson Brown, James Taylor, Dido, Nora)?   I am trying to decide between these and the K7xx.   I would be running them...

Regarding the tubes,   It's just what I have in my system to use.  My CD player is tubed, but I plan on buying a SS headphone amp (Magni, etc.) to use for listening through hp's.

So, from my reading of almost all of the 240 pages of this thread, and Reddit, etc., it appears that the K7xx would be an overall better performer and scale better than the HD598?  But, with the HD598 price being $80-$100 less than the K7xx, what about from a value perspective?   I would be...
