At some point, hopefully sooner than later, a dependable, reliable, affordable, music server that just works, pleeeeeeeaaaaassssssse. :o

Before I answer that question I'll need at least 35 more pictures at the exact same angle, same lighting, same distance, with at least 12 of them with the lid to the headphone box at a 28 degree angle :)

With all due respect to the validity of your personal experience, The Lyr and Bitfrost cost $800 combined, new. I see you have a Hegel HD12, which retails for $1400. Since your perspective sheds 0 light on the Yg, is comparing a $350 dac to a $1400 dac and doesn't clearly state anything, just...

They seem like a really stand up crew over there at Schiit and I'm fairly confident they'll do the right thing. Just hoping they don't to get too cocky with a new superstar on their hands and forget about the little people ; )

YES!! Exactly what I was thinking, a Schiit Music server to really get all the ducks in a row.    In the mean time, curious what non-direct from cd format people think sound and work best going into the Yg.

As psyched as I am to hear impressions and insights about the Yg, since the Schiit heads have gone out of their way to stress that the unit isn't really working at spec until it's been on "for a few DAYS" can we maybe hold off on kinda useless speculative comparisons? Its like planting an apple...
