The Suzi (gray box) is a speaker amplifier so the part with the headphone output is the interface between Suzi and Hugo. I assume that part is fixed to the Suzi.

The gray box itself is the Suzi. The small rectangle with the word Suzi and a headphone output is how compatible devices connect to the Suzi. The curvy device with big ball is the Suzi pre. The Suzi is a stereo amplifier so that explains the size of the gray box.

I didn’t snap too many photos of the Suzi pre but there are 3 inputs at the back. The Suzi also has headphone output at the front so you can use it with your headphones too. Chord also has the Chord Huei phono stage so I don’t see them pivoting too far from their usual offerings. I did ask...

My fully restored Sansui AU-D707F also sounds better than most headphone amps I’ve used. Having relay on the outputs is also great for protection. Not a lot of headphone amps have them.

I got random pads for mine. They fit fine, forgot how the original pads sounded like but I don’t think it’ll change too much. And for the price you really can’t go wrong. Glad I bought a pair again back then. I’m using mine at the office now. Had them since college.

The purple one is a USB A-B while the pair are male-female XLR cables. If you reverse the directions then you gonna have a baaad time.

Yes it does hiss with sensitive earphones. The ifi iemmatch helps tremendously. It didn't alter the sound signature of the IEM when I tried it out with the Vision Ears VE8.
