It‘s more like a classic trade fair than something like a Canjam. And yes, it was crowded. So much so, it was almost impossible to really audition a headphone there, be it open or closed. Only the closed booths (like Warwick Acoustics‘) were a little quieter, but even there the noise syphered...

At least for an A90D I can vouch. Together with my RME ADI-2 FS DAC it is a really good combo and drives the E3 very well. Much better than my Corda Classic-ff, that I tried via a Hifiman XLR-to-6.3mm-adapter. But I suspect the adapter being the culprit here, as the plug got very hot after just...

I'll do. But that'll take some time, as I have to wait for the XLR-to-4.4mm-adaptor which I ordered alongside the additional cable to use the E3 with the Q7. Estimated delivery time is three weeks, as both are made to order. So there's the next waiting game…

Well, actually it is in fact a tiny bit too late, as I just ordered a Fiio Q7 :wink: . But in the end, that probably doesn't matter, I am sure that I will be very happy with either one. Oh, and thanks for constructing such a great headphone.

Boy, does this thing need juice. Just for fun, I connected it to my Meier Corda Classic/Daccord stack (via the XLR adapter from the Hifiman), and for the first time I needed to use the high gain setting. And the amp got pretty warm, the plug was even hot when I unplugged it.

I just did. Albeit a very first test drive after only a meager 24-hour burn-in, but to put it simply: It's like my HE6se V2 on steroids, like there is more of everything. It even sounds more like an open headphone.

Wouldn't a Fiio Q7 be cheaper and work as well? Assuming you have an old phone in a drawer to use with it or use it with a laptop it should lead to almost the same results. But of course, portability would be much worse. (Which for me wouldn‘t be a problem, as I'd use it solely indoors.)

Or, like here today, all neighbors use the first sunny Saturday to mow their lawns football fields at the same time🙉.
