The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
It is this one, right? It is not anywhere near under $250, but maybe I will just go for it anyway. With shipping, AC adapter, taxes and so on it will set me back $400.- Arbakadarba

Need help selecting my next pair of full sized headphones
I see your point, but I was thinking to get the amp first so I can test the headphones properly before I decide whether to keep them or not. I do not own anything powerful enough to drive any 600 ohm headphone. I will see what I can find in the DT880 thread... Thanks again...- Arbakadarba

Need help selecting my next pair of full sized headphones
Quote: How will the Aune T1/X1 perform? Will it have enough power to drive the 600 ohm version? I can get the X1 for $205 and the T1 for $250. I do not like the cons on the Denons. Sounds like what I am trying to avoid. As I understand they are discontinued anyway.- Arbakadarba

Need help selecting my next pair of full sized headphones
Thanks. I think I will try them out. I do not have any amp for them (except for Fiio e6), but I have lots of stereo receiver I can try to pair them with. Which version should I buy? 32 ohm = $341 250 ohm = $355 600 ohm = $341 So the price it not a factor in my choice, but I guess...- Arbakadarba

Need help selecting my next pair of full sized headphones
The DT880 250 ohm will set me back $355 from my local store, and seems to have a really good quality to price ratio. Then I will also get norwegian warranty, which is far better then most other countries.- Arbakadarba

Need help selecting my next pair of full sized headphones
Thank you for the answers, I will take it into consideration even though the availability where I live is pretty limited. To get a pair of MAd Dogs I will have to pay a considerable amount for shipping, taxes and VAT.- Arbakadarba

Need help selecting my next pair of full sized headphones
As for now I am switching between the HD25-II and DT770 80 ohm. I love the Beyerdynamics comfort and build quality, but I am not satisfied with the sound. It is OK for short listening periodes, but after a while I get really tired of the veil bass. On the other hand I love the Sennheisers...- Arbakadarba

Where can I buy cables?
I am going to assemble my own cable for my HD25. I already have the connectors for both ends, but I can not find any suitable cables. The 3,5mm jack can only take cables up to 4,5 mm, so I need realtive thin cables. I am most concerned about the build and perceived quality, and is not willing...- Arbakadarba

Been introduced with DT770, time for a new experience. Suggestions?
Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 32 ohm (not Limited Edition) have been sold in some countries for a long time. They even come in the 80 ohm box with a sticker that says 32 ohm. Never heard about DT770 Premium 32 ohm.- Arbakadarba

Looking for new full-size, open headphones - need help choosing between all the suggestions
They do not sell Hifiman in my country so I will have to order them from abroad. That means 25% extra in taxes + customs handling fee and shipping. All the prices I have mentioned are either lowest price available in my country or prices from amazon + taxes and shipping. So as you can see...- Arbakadarba

Looking for new full-size, open headphones - need help choosing between all the suggestions
I have been looking for a new set of headphones for a while, and have received a lot of suggestions. I have already excluded some, but there is still a good bunch to choose from. I will use my headphones mainly for music, but they will also be used for movies. I prefer detailed, clear and...- Arbakadarba

You say the beats are overpriced... what is a headphone that is similar in sound but cheaper?
Take a look at V-MODA M-80 and Sony mdr-xb700/1000.- Arbakadarba

Fiio E10 is not portable, it is a small USB powered amp/DAC. I will, however, start a new thread in the right category when that time comes. First I must convince my partner that a new set of cans really are needed. Thank you again...- Arbakadarba

Thank you, KG Jag. I can get the HD650 for $440 while DT880 pro 250 ohm can be mine for $375. If I go for one of them, how much is necessary to spend on an amplifier? Can something like Fiio E10 do the job?- Arbakadarba

What are the oldest pair of headphones you still own?
These are the oldest I own. I do not know the age, but it came with an old orange Sony Walkman. I can remember my father using them when I was a kid, so they are probably around the same age as me (25 years).- Arbakadarba

I have sold all of my mediocre headphones in order to transform my collection away from quantity and steer more against quality. I ended up with HD25 as my sealed portable choice and JVC FX-HA80 for when IEM are needed. I can, however, not decide what to buy when it comes to full size, open...- Arbakadarba

Suggested Over Ears
You should check out Sennheiser HD25-1 II and Beyerdynamic DT1350. They are both great at isolation and their strong clamping force combined with the split headband design makes them stay on your head no matter what. I prefer the sound of the Beyerdynamics, but ended up with the HD25 as I...- Arbakadarba

Going to buy new head/ear phones
I use them as my main portable headphone with iPod Touch 4th gen, and I do not bother with an amp. I have the Fiio E6 (and L3), but for me the Fiio does just as good of a job laying on the shelf at home...collecting dust.- Arbakadarba

Going to buy new head/ear phones
HD25 Pros: + Isolation + Durability + Easy to repair (every part is user replaceable) + Easy to drive - any mp3-player should do the job just fine + Will not fall off your head even if you, when home alone, decides to jump up and down in your bed while headbanging your brains out +...- Arbakadarba
