Reshelling a CIEM to Universal IEM
Does anyone know of a vendor who offers this service? I have a pair of CIEM that are a little uncomfortable for me (3yrs old) and due to that, I have not used them much. I would like to see if I can get them re-shelled into a universal IEM.- WayTooCrazy

Ray Samuels Amps or other Balanced Amps
I've recently decided to move away from heavy desktop setups (amps and headphones) as when I'm sitting at my desk, my first choice is never to pick up the headphones, but to use my desktop/subwoofer setup. Which basically means that I do all my listening away from my listening area. When I...- WayTooCrazy

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 - Sound Quality
Ok, I've been lurking and looking around to find my next phone. I thought I found it in the Galaxy Note 7 (I'm a big fan of the Note line), but I'm not sure of the audio quality. Some people say that the Samsung phones, in general, are poor quality. I'm not looking for audiophile DAP...- WayTooCrazy

Finally happy with my AudioEngine A2+
Well, I wanted better speakers than my Dell "throw away" ones that we had at work. I then used my Denon receiver and my Quad 11L2 speakers. It sounded fantastic, but due to the dual ported enclosure and being so close to the wall (small desk), I could hear port noise and buffetting on loud ...- WayTooCrazy

DIY Right Angle to Straight OTG Cable (for DAC/Amp Connection)
Ok, I've taken a quick look and have not found what I'm looking for. I want to build a custom Right angle Micro USB OTG Cable (Phone side) to a straight Micro USB cable to go into my DAC. I'm looking for a "Dummies" guide on how to build this cable. I'm pretty much looking for pin-out...- WayTooCrazy

Beginner Balanced Headphone setup
I'm interested in dabbling in the "Balanced" side of things. I realize there are a few things I would need. Balanced DAC and Balanced Amp (along with headphones configured in Balanced wiring). What is the "LEAST" expensive way for someone to dabble in a Balanced setup? My thought is the...- WayTooCrazy

Looking for Equipment suggestion
Ok, I'm looking for suggestions for a Headphone rig (desktop) to listen to music. I'm mostly into Jazz, R&B, Rock, Metal, pretty much anything that doesn't involve Hip Hop (dunno why I loathe it, but I do). So, the sound signature has to be awesome with Acoustic, voices, and instruments. I...- WayTooCrazy

How do you share the sound of your Custom headphones with other people?
I've had people ask me how my Customs sound... yet, most of them aren't really into Audio like I am. How do you describe it? I was looking for a 2 Channel setup anyway, so I decided to try and recreate what my Customs sound like....- WayTooCrazy

Sony Walkman Z Owner's Appreciation Thread
Let's PLEASE stay on topic this time. If we have anything to discuss outside of the "Z"... let's do it through PM or something. I've been thoroughly enjoying my "Z" as of late. I've tried multiple headphones and cables with them... Here is what I've tried so far. Walkman Z 1060 US...- WayTooCrazy

Show us your Soldering Station/Area
I looked through the forums, and didn't see anything that really discussed an important aspect of our hobby. The Soldering Station! I've used a few different types, and 'am currently in search of my next station. I bought this one, which is difficult to find tips for, and frankly, I'm not...- WayTooCrazy

iPod 5.5G HDD starting to go bad, Fix?
I have an iPod 5.5G (80GB) model. The face has a slight crack to the left of the screen (no problems with screen itself). The click wheel is starting to act up a little. The HDD though, has given me errors on and off when formatted under Windows. Under Mac format, it hasn't indicated a...- WayTooCrazy

Headphone Selector
I have a beginner setup, but my Tube Amp suggests that I turn the unit off, switch headphones, turn unit on and allow time for the tubes to warm up before listening. When trying to A/B headphones... it's way too long to remember passages (especially when one keeps them to under 30 seconds a...- WayTooCrazy

Issue Resolved: TRRS and Mic issues
Ok, I'm having some wiring issues. I have the TRRS connector wired up as so... The Microphone connector goes to a Neutrik Gold plated Stereo 3.5mm female connector (Left Channel). The ground goes to Common Ground. When I use this setup on the Astro MixAmp, I can hear my voice chats on both...- WayTooCrazy

"Dark Knight" Redux?
Ok then, I'm actually looking at purchasing another AD700 set of headphones to do a similar mod. The execution most likely will be the same (removable cable, removable microphone). If you have any suggestion on where to source a better female/male 4 pole adapters would be nice. I used...- WayTooCrazy

"Dark Knight" AD700 Gaming Mod (Lots of Pics!)
I recently entered the Headphone gaming scene and have been told to grab the Audio-Technica AD700 headphones by many, many people in many, many threads. So, I acquired a pair. I liked the way they sounded, they lacked a little bass (the thump, bass is there), and the highs were a little over...- WayTooCrazy

Modding the Sennheiser HD428S
I just picked up a pair of refurbished Sennheiser HD428S headphones. I think they sound pretty good for the price... with the exception of the ridiculously thin cable and occasional microphonics... it's a good purchase for a headphone. I want to disassemble these completely and re-wire...- WayTooCrazy

ATH-AD700 or AKG K240 Studio
I've been searching, and maybe have overlooked, but I haven't found any comparisons of these two headphones. I kinda stumbled onto the AKG K240 Studios at Guitar Center while looking for ATH-AD700s. I noticed at the time (actually for a few weeks) that no retailers had them in stock. Now I...- WayTooCrazy
