If they die and leave behind an extra D7 driver I'd heavily consider it... it's going on 4 years searching for a replacement driver to bring my D7k's back to life.

To piggyback on OP, I just purchased the d2k's yesterday and am absolutely lost on which desktop amp to look at.  Going to wait until the headphones arrive to give them a try ampless, but any suggestions?  Been looking through search for over an hour, and have ended up more confused.

Do you recommend the Mogami W2534 Quad Mic Cable or Mogami W2893 Miniature Quad Mic Cable ? I'll try and figure out the rest in these forums. I just really want to duplicate what you got cause it looks so slick.
