Just got HFI-580 for a good deal. Im loving them straight out of the box. I wonder how good these will sound after burn in.   The bass is unlike any headphone I have ever heard lovely. (Im coming from mostly Senns).   I really need to try out higher end Ultrasones.

I also think they should stick to more minimalistic look of HD580 HD600 HD650 well atleast it looks more like a headphone than HD800. But ofcourse sound is more important than looks.

Astral projection - Ambient Galaxy on PX-100 II   Incredibly smooth. I'm surprised how good these phones are for the price.

Any well recorded psy/goatrance. When theres sounds and stuff coming from every direction, the excellent imaging of HD600 makes it very psychedelic experience...   Also ambient, downtempo and acoustic music sounds wonderful.

AKG K512   First dissapointment was the colour: they were black on the box but turned out to be this horrible dark gray color. I painted them white. Soundwise they were awful for the price too: (+40 €) piercing highs, boomy bass and overall plasticy sound.

With senn HD600, or any headphones for that matter, I hear no difference in sound between my headphone amp and and headphone output in my M-Audio Fast Track USB external dac. I think it sounds even worse out of my amp, a bit more veiled and the bass is less controlled, but the difference is...

Okay so I decided to buy an amp for 598. I currently listen them unamped from M-Audio fast Track USB.   Which would be the best choice in price range 0-300€? Or do I need amplification at all? (only 50 ohms)

How about the soundstage?

I'm planning to upgrade my Sennheiser HD598 to HD650.   So my question is: Would Senn HD650 be a big upgrade from HD598 and what are the most notable differences between these cans?   What I'm especially looking for is wider soundstage and more airy sound.
