Sony WF-1000XM4 Impressions Thread
I have decided that these are not any better, and possibly worse, than the Sennheiser TW Momentum 2 when using my iPhone 12 with AAC, but are definitely better when using LDAC from my Fiio M6 or M11. So although I was hoping they would replace my Sennheisers for every day use, I am keeping...- smessvader

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future
I was having tons of problems trying to download my Tidal playlists onto my Fiio M6 until I read on this forum that you really have to stick to the version available on Fiio's white list. Then it worked like a charm! The latest versions of Qobuz and Spotify seem to work fine by contrast.- smessvader

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future
The Ananda BTs have a built-in DAC; I am able to plug them in with a USB-C cord to my Mac Mini and can listen to MQA tracks. Are you saying that I may need a separate DAC in between the M6 and USB headphones? What about the M11 - would that have the same issue?- smessvader

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future
I just got an M6 mainly for bluetooth LDAC (since I have an iPhone), but also want to use it to connect my Hifiman Ananda BT and Shure Aonic 50 via USB-C, which works well EXCEPT for Masters files on Tidal. These tracks work fine over bluetooth, but not over USB. Any thoughts on this? Is...- smessvader

Right, I would love a silicone cover I could put on this with a hook for a keyring - they are so light I would keep them on my keychain!- smessvader

I absolutely love my ZE3000s. Sound is unlike any other BT headphone or earbud out there in terms of clarity and lack of distortion, with just the right amount bass. Sure, some other features would be nice but its also great to see a product focused just on excellent sound. Has anyone found a...- smessvader

iPhone owner looking for better codecs
So it turns out my son's android phone uses LDAC, I tried a side by side with my Shure Aonic 50s, and quickly preferred the AAC - the bass in particular was noticeably tighter compared to the LDAC where it sounded a little boomier. Perhaps it would be different on a dedicated music player, but...- smessvader

iPhone owner looking for better codecs
Thanks again - I saw that there was one left and put it in my cart, but 5 minutes later someone else must have bought it as now its gone :( Seems like it was somewhat unique at that price point but I'll keep poking around...- smessvader

iPhone owner looking for better codecs
Thanks for the good advice. Do you know if standalone BT music players stream/download from Tidal or if I would have to download individual files?- smessvader

iPhone owner looking for better codecs
I have an iPhone and have really been enjoying the massive improvement in sound quality switching from [Spotify and AirPodPros] to [Tidal and my Shure Aonic 50s and Final ZE3000s]. But I get the sense that I could get even better sound through better BT codecs than AAC, like AptX HD or LDAC -...- smessvader

Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless - The Official Thread
Man, I really wanted to like the M3s, but ended up returning them. I bought the Bose 700s (super comfortable, but muddy sound) and Sony XM4s (ear cups too shallow, bass pressure uncomfortable) but returned them both. I also bought the SA50s, and their sound is next level in terms of detail and...- smessvader

Pocket Amp by Electric Avenues
I contacted Gary, and decided to try out the Pocket Amp 2 (for one, he says that he will give a refund if it doesn't work out). Thanks for the advice, and I'll report back!- smessvader

Pocket Amp by Electric Avenues
Thanks, gshan. What you say makes me think that with low impedance cans like these etys, I might need a volume knob on my amp, like the pocket amp 2, since it sounds like you can reduce the hiss by fiddling with the ipod volume and the amp volume - does that sound right? In terms of power...- smessvader

Pocket Amp by Electric Avenues
Thanks for the offer to help. I'd rather not post the actual seller, given that I'm discussing possible problems. He has been awesome as a seller and believe that he is a good craftsman. Here are the parts he used though: Chewing Gum Tin High Precision, Low Noise Op-Amp by Texas Instruments...- smessvader

Pocket Amp by Electric Avenues
This has been a great thread to read, so I thought I'd ask for help. I recently started investing in better headphones for my ipod/computer, and now have a great trifecta: grado sr-80s, etymotic er-6i's, and sony ex81s. The er-6i's have awesome noise isolation (esp. with foam), but they lack...- smessvader
