Anyone know of a source for 40mm headphone drivers that are relatively thin (5mm)? I’m replacing the ones in Flare Audio headphone.

Are these planar or dynamic? I could not ascertain this in Steve Guttenberg's review. Or maybe I just missed it.

Looking for headphones with upper octaves that are smooth but have just a touch of punch. I generally like the planar sound but I find most of the planars/orthos a bit laid back in this region. Any suggestions?

Seems to be a very common thing. Anyone know why? Why not 6 or 14kHz? Is it diaphragm material or plastic that resonates at that frequency?
