Alright guys, let's leave the drama behind now. I noticed there is an approximate 30 second delay on the T1 before it's allows music to flow through it. Is there a way to shorten this time interval?

I concur, those are real. There may be subtle bass differences between production runs. My second HD598 has 30% more bass than my first pair.

The cheapest cable solution I've found is using the free cable that comes with the headphones.

What role does humidity from our head and ears have on the headphone driver? I would think that mositure would collect on the driver and thus change the audio characteristics of the headphones. I would also think this effect would be more pronounced on closed headphones compared to open...

If the powered sub directly connects to the powered speakers, then yes.

joshwalnut nailed it. The HD598 has very little bass, and increasing the bass through EQ will muddy the mids. I got the Aune T1 and really like it.

What do you guys think of this configuration:   Aune T1 RCA out -> Lepai 2020a+ RCA in -> Audio out ports -> bookshelf or monitor speakers.    Cables would be one red/white RCA audio cable and a pair of standard speaker wire.   Would this configuration sound fine?

Is it true that touching a broken tube can kill a person? Due to the volts or amps or something.

Yes. I guess it doesn't sound muffled, it's just that one can clearly hear the audio quality difference between 320 and FLAC with this set up.

Its crazy how with the Aune T1 and the HD598 even 320kpbs song files sound muffled.

Must be, because I preferred my $25 Koss Porta Pro to the HE400. I've never heard such a weird sound signature from anything before.
