The NEW JVC HA-S400. Affordable Carbon Nanotube cans for the masses.
What is your assessment of the sportapro's before and after the mod? I don't have a drill so I'm likely to put the sportapro drivers on a parts express headband instead. What are the two models of headphones pictured below the sportapro's? Quote:- jaycee1

LOL! I'm totally satisfied with my budget koss headphones. :) Even if you spend $300 - $600, there's no guarantee you'll get better sound quality. :) I get a weird sense of enjoyment watching you guys running around like chickens with your heads cut off.- jaycee1

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
Awesome!!!!! Shopping for a 7.1 surround sound receiver for my 75's RIGHT NOW. Anyone have recommendations on a wheelbarrow and/or 5,000 foot extension cord? I saw a yamaha receiver at costco that would ROCK as a portable amp, bro.- jaycee1

[Impression] FiiO X3 – High Fi, Low Price.
Quote: OK, there were varying guesstimates on prices before; I thought the street price point would be closer to 150 after release. There's no way I would buy at that pre-order price, but I'll take a look again once it dips below 2 bills.- jaycee1

Quote: I don't know how many times you've posted this same question. You've certainly spammed the forum enough. You are either very slow, or completely unable to comprehend one simple fact: CLOSED HEADPHONES ARE NO MATCH FOR OPEN HEADPHONES. You just won't get the best sound quality...- jaycee1

Best Amp For Grado SR60i/80i/Alessandro MS1i?
Quote: I have the Fiio E6 and my experience is that this amp tends to bring out the treble quite a bit in most headphones. I'm wondering if a darker amp like CCBH is the way to go.- jaycee1

KOSS UR40: PERFECT!
The koss headphones are all right, but they don't have those fancy nano particle carbohydrates. I recommend you stick with nano carbohydrate headphones, dude. So much fancier. :) Quote:- jaycee1

Low-Price Audiophile Headphones
Quote: Interesting. I agree that it can take some time before you can properly 'review' a headphone. I love the sound quality of all of my open koss headphones. Having said that, important differences can show up depending on... whether they're amped, on the player used, and of course, the...- jaycee1

The JVC HA-S500 thread.
Get BOTH brah!!!!!! Get SEVEN of each! Two pairs for every day of the week. They're THAT good. You can use some stock, mod some of the others, and burn in the rest for varying intervals. These BLOW AWAY stax and senn 800's. Rage on!!!!!- jaycee1

KOSS UR40: PERFECT!
I'll write up a full review later, but these circumaural open headphones are just UNBELIEVABLE! A recent pair of on ear headphones had impressed me with their sound quality, but were a major letdown in terms of comfort (lack thereof). Therefore, I began a search for potentially great...- jaycee1

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
Up 'til now, I've had a rather naive faith that this forum would serve as a guide in the quest for the 'holy grail.' Despite this faith, it's become abundantly clear that not only is this faith misguided, it seems more and more obvious that most members don't care much about sound quality at...- jaycee1

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
Fantastic reply--very informative! People engage in this type of status seeking all of the time, it's quite embarrassing how easy it is to scam people in this way. Rebadge a honda accord or toyota camry as an "acura" or "lexus" luxury models and cough up $10K to 15K more. Yet...- jaycee1

Koss KSC-75: Better Than $600 Headphones???
I re-read some of the comments in the ksc-75 thread, and they are quite disturbing. I love my koss headphones and tend to suspect that they get you 90% of the way along the road to the "holy grail" flagship headphones from sennheiser, grado and the like. What's astonishing however is that...- jaycee1

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
I'm just fascinated by the psychology of overspending. On the first page, multiple forum members state unequivocally that koss headphones are not just a match, but even PREFERABLE to headphones that are in the $300-$600 range. Yet, every day, there are multiple threads from noobs and...- jaycee1

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
It looks like the ktxpro1's are going back. It's unfortunate, but I've had to return my two best sound pair of headphones: igrado's and ktxpro1's because of the same issue: a lack of comfort. To add insult to injury, the ktxpro1's are unmoddable. You can't switch out the foam cover and...- jaycee1

Is burn in real or placebo?
Quote: With igrado's no. The highs were far too harsh initially, meaning, right out of the box. They remained that way after about 20+ and 40+ hours of burn in. I listened to them again at around the 60+ hour mark, and the highs had become far less harsh, and as a result, the sound...- jaycee1
