HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Anyone tried the PaliPad (pads that come with the Susvara)? http://store.hifiman.com/index.php/palipad.html Was thinking of trying those or else Dekoni's new Elite Hybrids for Hifiman headphones.- KewlMunky

I had tried these on mine https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N02FMFC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I felt they improved the physical feeling of bass quite a bit. I believe they make a version for the ATH-M50, which would be a more appropriate shape.- KewlMunky

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I had the original nickel plated aluminum version of the TRUE. While the copper TRUE is much heavier, the IFX-14 is physically larger. Although being spaciously big and having the backside cooler, the IFX-14 didn't actually perform well. Even the regular TRUE outperformed it.- KewlMunky

Right, but my thought was keeping your setup silent, as you had mentioned wanting fanless. Though I think some TEC use fans. But if that heatsink and undervolting are already getting you there, great!- KewlMunky

If you think that heatsink is huge, check out this ol' beast. Thermalright IFX-14. Even has a part that takes heat from the back side of the CPU.- KewlMunky

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Interesting little device. I'd certainly like to give it a try, but I wish I could use it just for the DSP and then have it feed my DAC. I'd hate to have to switch around my setup between gaming and music. You also mention that Dolby Headphone isn't far behind GSX Surround. To be honest, Dolby...- KewlMunky

A headphone tribute goodbye to Tyll from Innerfidelity
I've looked to the Wall of Fame several times before purchasing a headphone. I feel Tyll and I share a similar preference in sound. I hope whoever picks up the torch next continues the excellence we've all come to expect. I was recently just through Bozeman Montana two weekends ago while on my...- KewlMunky

It may have just been a post, but I remember Jason mentioning someone returned a product claiming it just stopped working one day. They opened it and it looked like a can of soda had been dumped in it.- KewlMunky

I have a pair of Dekoni Elite Sheepskin pads, designed to fit Hifiman cans and the like, I have been using. I didn't do an AB comparison to check how they affected the sound itself. However, I can tell you that they greatly improved the tactile feedback. I believe this is a combination of the...- KewlMunky

The user forgot to use proper punctuation. The actual quote from their website is "Yep, Schiit is our name, and it's pronounced, well, like "hey man, that's some really good Schiit!" And now that we have your attention..." The part about stoners was the user saying that Schiit, themselves...- KewlMunky

Taction Technology KANNON Headphone
I guess I never posted about it here. A month or so ago, after having not had time to sit down with the Kannons for a couple of weeks, I went to use them and the Taction wouldn't turn on. The light wouldn't come on for it either. Sent them in (Jim offered to cover shipping, which was awesome)...- KewlMunky

I just had this happen a couple days ago, after having received my Kannons back from repair. Initially I had heard the right side whine a couple times, then eventually it was constant. Turning the taction off and then back on resolved the issue. I can't seem to think of anything that...- KewlMunky

Finally tried out my Dekoni Sheepskin leather pads on my Kannons. WOW! The difference is just so amazing. They are thicker, roomier, and comfier. But most of all, they significantly improved the amount of tactile feedback. It's list experiencing the Kannon for the first time, again. I would...- KewlMunky

Schiit SYS Passive Preamp
Wow, that thing looks great. I currently just keep my integrated headphone amp plugged into the RCA outs on my DAC and my monitors plugged into the XLR outs. I then turn on whichever I want to listen to and turn off the other. Using an Emotiva Control Freak to control volume for the monitors. I...- KewlMunky

I'm guessing that, along with the LED inside, they would also want the LISST to have a transparent top for the light to shine through. Then it would give off a glow.- KewlMunky

Well that's no fun. Do you intend to leave Vidar on at all times? I have both my headphone amp and powered monitors connected to my DAC/preamp and just leave the headphone amp off when using the monitors, and leave the monitors off when using my headphones and headphone amp.- KewlMunky

+1 Why the need for the switch at all, though? If the user just wants a headphone output and a pre out to Vidar, Mjolnir cutting the pre out when headphones are plugged in is already providing all the switching they should need.- KewlMunky
