Hello folks, I've not been using my HE-1000's for quite some time now. Maybe 4 years. I've gotten a bigger house with a second living room and all of my listening is now done via a hi-fi system. I've been holding onto them - because as my wife keeps telling me - 'You'll only regret selling...

What tips is everyone using? Most of my silicon tips from my other IEMs don't fit well on the B400 as the tubes are so small. I prefer double flange, I can use some RHA ones, but they are ever so slightly too large, I can't seem to get hold of the SpinFit CP240 in the UK.

Protege is absolutely right. Not only will you eventually drive your colleague mad with your music, you'll also be able to hear anything and everything in the office. I only use open backed at home, where it's quiet and I can't disturb anyone.

RHA T20's are very warm and pleasant to listen to.

I know the feeling, after recently getting a shotgun, I now want a .308 rifle, they don't come cheap. It's never ending, whether it be golf or shooting, someone is always there to take your money!

I think the biggest difference to a set up is the headphones. With that said, I heard an audible difference when sending my old Schiit Bifrost DAC off for an upgrade and going back to my iFi iDSD. The iFi was night and day a 'warmer' DAC, it lacked the rhythmic precision of the Bifrost as well...

Ouch :astonished:. I was always pleased with my Bifrost, it was audibly better than the iFi iDSD I was using before. I'm glad I upgraded again now!

My HE-1000's are the most comfortable I've worn, purely because the cups are huge.

I've seen the HE-560 V2 for less than €300, secondhand. I had a look on eBay, a little more than €300, but I think they are an absolute bargain at that price...

There is a lot more to a DAC than just the chip inside. it's what you do with the chip that matters, the architecture you build around it. Which is why the Bifrost is more expensive than the Modi.

The best thing I ever got for my phone was the Audioquest Dragonfly Black, cheap (£80), and it works excellently with USB Audio Player PRO, the best app for lossless audio on Android. You'll never have to worry about quiet audio on your phone again.

I think the Bifrost Multibit and Little Dot MkII would be a lovely pairing. I had the Lyr 2 and Bifrost Multibit a year or so ago, I also had the HD650's, it was a nice pairing. :thumbsup:

So having had a little search though the thread, it seems some people at least are okay with powering their Qutest via other methods other than the wall-wart. How about powering it through a USB-C port in my laptop? Power via laptop USB-C into the DAC and then USB out into a USB-A in my laptop...

Hey guys, I want to re-terminate my Forza Audio Works Noir Hybrid HPC, but, I can't find the correct 2.5mm connectors anywhere. Can someone who's made a custom cable point me in the right direction, please? *Edit* I've found mono plugs, but isn't the HE-1000 stereo 2.5mm?

Your ear canals sound very similar to mine, I use Spinfit CP-100M for my Mee Audio P1's, they look like a similar fit to the B400, I also have some heavier Trinity Audio Phantom Masters and I use the Spinfit CP230 with those, they are a double flange with a longer first section that inserts...

It's a shame to see everything in such disarray. I really enjoy my Phantom Masters. I'd have loved to have tried another model.

I find the Bifrost Multibit more sterile than the 2Qute, I listen to a lot of jazz and the 2Qute is just more organic, it's more fun to listen to, it has a very pleasing character to my ear, far more so than the Bifrost Multibit.
