I've got a $1800 (Canadian) budget for a DAC/AMP setup and I've narrowed down my choices to two units. I'll mainly be using it to drive my HD800S (possibly my A5+ speakers if I decide to keep them). The two units are the Questyle CMA400i and the RME ADI-2. Pros of the RME ADI-2 - well...

Anyone compare the jot/bifrost mb to the HDVD800? I ask because I found a good deal HDVD800 (near mint condition) - that's listed for $1300. The second solution is the jotunhiem/bifrost multibit stack which comes to about $1200 before shipping costs. Is one inherently superior here?

Honestly, it couldn't be the former because the demand is still there. Expensive to make? Highly probable but then again; their sonica dac option isn't exactly "entry level" at $1100 CAD. Hopefully they have a successor in the works...

Are they legit? I normally don't order my stuff online and need to know if they're reliable/reputable. Found a pair of hd800(non s) for 21% off which seems too good to be true.
