The Audeze costs less and requires a lesser amp, so theres that.

I don't consider myself a gamer though I do play games. I'll definitely be grabbing these upon release. I'll power them from a JDS Labs Element. I won't use the mic as I have a desktop unit.

So far they show no signs of being overly bright. Very clear. I too have heard the 990 on SS amps and it made my ears bleed. I got them from Massdrop for $165. Worth it IMO. Plus they look great in all black.

The D8000 are the best headphone I've ever heard. And I've heard them all. It was powered from a Wells Audio Milo.

Oh. Ok. Whatever works for you I guess. The intended use for stationary positions is 3d manual. That locks the center into whatever you're looking at when you press the button. 3d auto re-centers to wherever you stop your head for a second or two. Maybe your headset is defective because the 3d...

Just an FYI: if you're sitting stationary in front of a TV or monitor you must use 3d manual. I keep seeing all these posts about the headset needing re-centering often and want to make sure they have the correct setting enabled. My headset stays very well locked to center.
