Vision Ears and Rhines Custom Monitors (formerly Compact Monitors)
I am only interested in custom IEMs tbh. My only use case is sound isolation while I am travelling. I would rather use headphones or speakers at home.- seamon

MOONDROP X CRINACLE DUSK NOW AVAILABLE
Yes, it's really annoying. The 16khz peak makes everything sound 'tizzy'. As I said, my A12t is unusable unless the 16khz is toned down by 10dB. I am looking at Vision Ears stuff like VE8, VE10 and Phonix which don't have that- seamon

Vision Ears and Rhines Custom Monitors (formerly Compact Monitors)
The problem with A12t is the 16khz spike. It's pretty much unusable for me unless I tone down 16khz by 10dB. It makes everything sound "tizzy" is the best way to describe it. I really loved the VE8. I will prolly AB VE8 and VE10 at some point and get one or the other.- seamon

Vision Ears and Rhines Custom Monitors (formerly Compact Monitors)
3 years back, I made the huge mistake of getting A12t customs instead of VE8, maybe now is the time for a correction.- seamon

Vision Ears and Rhines Custom Monitors (formerly Compact Monitors)
A few months back, I heard VE Phonix at a meet and was floored. I tried a bunch of other TOTL IEMs that day but nothing came close. I legit thought that Phonix was pretty much perfect except it lacked a bit of treble sparkle. It's as close to my perfect IEM as it gets. I was disappointed to...- seamon

The Opamp thread
More expensive is not always better. Muses are fairly expensive compared to other opamps but they have some of the worst electric characteristics among audio opamps. Newer opamps like OPA1656, OPA1612 etc. completely destroy the MUSES' old and outdated designs/tech.- seamon

The Opamp thread
Instead of swapping out random Op-Amps in random amps, shouldn't we vouch for competent designers who understand how each op-amp performs and designs circuits with particular op-amps in mind? Just a thought.- seamon

New Oriolus Stack - BD20 DAC, BA20 AMP, SE02 EQ, 1795 BT Receiver and more...
I had the same experience. Lotoo Paw whatever I used back then was dry as a digestive biscuit. Adapt Reference will likely solve your problems. It's a fairly cost effective option as well before trying something more expensive.- seamon
