Most people say biggies are better. Furthermore, you described smalls as "muffled", and because biggies have a flatter sound signature, they will likely sound much better to you. (p.s. I haven't tried either yet)

They aren't really focused on anything IMO... The FR is almost straight, no bumps anywhere... That's why I love them, they reproduce sound exactly the way it was intended.

What about Soundmagic ES18? Seems like a cheaper version of E30, with different exterior... Same drivers, similar sound signature... I think it should make it into this list, as it strikes a very good price to quality ratio
