Moondrop ZERO electrostatic reveal.
Boosted midbass and upper mids, typical Harman response curve stuff. It is what it is :( Many IEMs being worse and more expensive doesn't unboost the midbass and upper mids of the Moondrops, just gives a context of how bad many IEMs sound.- ToroFiestaSol

Moondrop ZERO electrostatic reveal.
Yes, Moondrop does kind of a cookie cutter/fits everything approach with their Harman-esque curve, so for those who like it they are always a very good option to consider.- ToroFiestaSol

Moondrop ZERO electrostatic reveal.
Shame that Moondrops tunes their products for that harman-esque, pushy and screechy upper midrange frequency response. The Starfields were unlisteneable to me for that reason and pretty much everything they release follows the same tuning, this headphones included. So close yet so far, not for...- ToroFiestaSol

Speakers: ATC SCM40A impressions = HiFiMAN Arya V2, sounds boring now. What to do? new dac?
Be careful with using too many of them, because those panels can't treat bass effectively (only active bass traps like PSI AVAA C20 can do that) and end up sucking up the lower midrange too much and negatively affecting the liveliness of the sound IMO. With those room dimensions, you are better... -
Speakers: ATC SCM40A impressions = HiFiMAN Arya V2, sounds boring now. What to do? new dac?
Only a bigger ATC speaker will satisfy your desires, @OCC7N Your ATC have that awesome soft dome midrange, a very good soft dome tweeter and a woofer, vs the small plastic membrane of your planar headphones. IMHO, what you want can't be experienced with headphones, no DAC or amp will made up... -
New Audeze "Prototype-Z"!
@Audeze What happened to this project and what's your current stance on it? 1200 ohms planar would be something amazing, IMO.- ToroFiestaSol

WHO ARE THE BEST LOOKING PEOPLE ON EARTH?
Vika Bronova is truly beautiful, probably the best looking woman I've ever seen: And best looking man...hard to tell because I'm not attracted to men, but I reckon french actor Alain Delon was ridiculously good looking:- ToroFiestaSol

CanJam Chicago 2022 Impressions Thread (June 18-19, 2022)
How does the Aeras sound compared to the BHSE? I'm sure the T2 is the best amp but the Aeras looks very intriguing, very elegant form factor and design. -

Thanks for the correction! Still, it is around the same time line. There's also the possibility of silent revisions, I wouldn't be surprised if they "tweaked" the Omega once they heard it with the T2. Still, would be very, very difficult to know due to unit to unit variations and the Omega being...- ToroFiestaSol

The Stax Thread III
The sad thing is that it is possible, but I'm sure it won't happen. IMO, someone needs to gift Stax with proper equipment, something among the lines of a BHSE and a Rockna DAC, so they can voice their headphones properly. IMO, it's impossible that they can voice somethig right with their amps...- ToroFiestaSol

Glad to see big daddy Stax finally coming out with something new and TOP OF THE LINE. No more sidegrades like the 009S or some black paint job (009 BK). I have no doubts about the technical superiority of this new headphone, the only thing that can hold it back VS the other options in the market...- ToroFiestaSol

HIFIMAN HE-R10 Closed-Back Headphones Discussion & Impressions
@VandyMan Nothing wrong with having an unpopular opinion, but you should pick your fights wisely. Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A
I would love to hear this headphone but with a Gryphon amp, such as the Diablo 120. Reading some impressions here, that headphone is screaming for it! :) Bad news, this theorical pairing is, in the luckiest situation, 11k € :frowning2: But 240w 4 ohms, zero feedback, first 20w (4 ohm) in class...- ToroFiestaSol

I don't know, but there's people for everything so someone will do it. By the way, I'm talking about the Elegia, which costs $899, not about an hypothetic, imaginary closed back Utopia.- ToroFiestaSol

Yes, it's a RAAL headphone ;) Zooming the picture and slightly rotating it, I could read: "Studio Reference True Ribbon" on the right earcup. -
Focal Elegia Measurements
I'm 99% sure it won't, because the Utopia has that small soundstage being completely open, and Elegia is...a closed headphone.- ToroFiestaSol
