Boosted midbass and upper mids, typical Harman response curve stuff. It is what it is :( Many IEMs being worse and more expensive doesn't unboost the midbass and upper mids of the Moondrops, just gives a context of how bad many IEMs sound.

Yes, Moondrop does kind of a cookie cutter/fits everything approach with their Harman-esque curve, so for those who like it they are always a very good option to consider.

Shame that Moondrops tunes their products for that harman-esque, pushy and screechy upper midrange frequency response. The Starfields were unlisteneable to me for that reason and pretty much everything they release follows the same tuning, this headphones included. So close yet so far, not for...

Be careful with using too many of them, because those panels can't treat bass effectively (only active bass traps like PSI AVAA C20 can do that) and end up sucking up the lower midrange too much and negatively affecting the liveliness of the sound IMO. With those room dimensions, you are better...

Only a bigger ATC speaker will satisfy your desires, @OCC7N Your ATC have that awesome soft dome midrange, a very good soft dome tweeter and a woofer, vs the small plastic membrane of your planar headphones. IMHO, what you want can't be experienced with headphones, no DAC or amp will made up...

No 1-2khz bump, SR-007 MK1 timbre and smoothness with better resolution than the 009S would be legit god tier, IMHO.

Glad to see big daddy Stax finally coming out with something new and TOP OF THE LINE. No more sidegrades like the 009S or some black paint job (009 BK). Yes, it's a RAAL headphone ;) Zooming the picture and slightly rotating it, I could read: "Studio Reference True Ribbon" on the right earcup.

I'm 99% sure it won't, because the Utopia has that small soundstage being completely open, and Elegia is...a closed headphone.
