Linsoul $1 Reservation Card (RC) For HarmonicDyne Athena
Ok guys, so here is the catch. For shipping these headphones Linsoul charges a minimum of 32$... For comparison, the Sivga Oriole, a 199$ headphone, ships for free, as do many other products... So this is where Linsoul tries to rip off their customers! Was interested but not buying these...- theMUKe

Linsoul $1 Reservation Card (RC) For HarmonicDyne Athena
New psychological tricks from the sales department 😉 Still I think it's an interesting new sales model for both Linsoul and customers: - Linsoul generates additional revenue by non-refundable micro payments for the reservations. And they get an estimate of interest in the product although this...- theMUKe

Two New Compact MTouch Portable Players – Shanling M0 Pro and M1s
Great to see more MTouch players being released! MTouch gives fast boot times and good responsiveness. Several mid-tier Android-based DACs don't have adequate hardware and are slow and sluggish unfortunately. Also Tidal streaming with limited UI is a nice addition in MTouch. As long as...- theMUKe

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
Sundara but closed-back… wouldn‘t that deserve a brand new name? I guess Hifiman want to ride the Sundara success wave as long as possible and make the most of their popularity. But given it’s closed back I would expect a different sound signature. So no longer a true Sundara. …would be...- theMUKe

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
Overall I would say more vocal presence on Sundara. But very close for female vocals, these are also quite pronounced on HD560S.- theMUKe

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
I can provide a comparison between HD560S and Sundara. Detail retrieval is very good on both but the HD560S has a slight edge over Sundara. At the same time I prefer to listen to the Sundara since they sound a bit more laid back in comparison. In terms of soundstage I would also say it’s a...- theMUKe

Hifiman Edition XS Launched
Would it be possible to get good sound of Edition XS using a Hiby R5 Saber on balanced out? The R5 Saber outputs around 1000mW output into 32 ohms.- theMUKe

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.
Turn player off, then insert card, then turn on again, and use folder browsing. If you really want to scan then you can only scan entire library each time.- theMUKe

Astell&Kern AK UW100 TWS Earbuds
Thanks! Sound comparison is totally sufficient. Considering that the AKG N400 is a fraction of the price of UW100 I don’t have to consider the latter.- theMUKe

Hifiman Edition XS Launched
What are the major differences? Less detail retrieval? More weighty bass? I have seen several comparisons but I would also be keen on your impressions. How is treble compared to Ananda? Here I have read different statements so no clue in the end.- theMUKe

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
It works but everything could be a bit faster. The 2GB of RAM seem to be adequate but the Snapdragon 425 is not the fastest. Boot up of the player takes some time. Apps take a few seconds to start. Once inside an app it is ok to navigate, only typing is a bit tricky in the 4 inch screen...- theMUKe

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
The ONE disadvantage with R5 is Android. It makes the interface slow and it drains a lot of battery in stand by. No idea why everyone is jumping on Android. Would be nice to have the sound quality of R5 Saber but with Hiby OS! R3 Pro sounds really good of course but R5 Saber sounds a bit more...- theMUKe

Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP
I personally don’t use any Eq or MSEB. But based on what I have seen taming the treble should not be a problem. Hiby OS has both traditional Eq and MSEB. So you could simply give it a try with the Pro Saber. An alternative would be the Shanling M2x - similar format, similar features, and in...- theMUKe

Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP
It’s hard for me to say which one is better suited for all these genres. But in terms of overall versatility I would say the original Pro is a bit easier to match (since the Pro Saber can be problematic on bright headphones). Regarding your last point I think the release date is irrelevant...- theMUKe

Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP
Well, I have the R5 Saber which, based on several reviews, is more detailed than the original R5. But unfortunately I never listened to the original R5 myself… The R5 Saber sounds more refined than all of the R3. But not sure if any R3 is better than the original R5??? But I think one problem...- theMUKe

Yes, any one cell LiPo should do, as long as it fits in the space. You just need to be extremely careful when soldering. Prevent short circuiting the battery wires at any time, and don’t damage anything on the board with the soldering iron.- theMUKe
