Review by 'Skint' on item 'Cayin YB04'
Disclaimer: As part of the Cayin N6II and YB04 tour I was lent these IEMs to try in exchange for an honest review. I am in no way associated with Cayin. The YB04 is Cayin's first IEM and is positioned as a mid-priced multi BA over ear unit with a premium metal build and engaging, powerful...- Skint

Cowon Plenue R2
@jmills8 Haha love it! I have a 26,000mah batt in my bag I can hook it up to. I wish cowon would include a fast charging chip, that would help a lot. Curious as to whats your current fave DAP? For sound quality only. I should be getting the cayin N6ii on the tour soon and from reading reviews...- Skint

Cowon Plenue R2
There's a lot of P2 and P2mk2 for sale on ebay etc. But I need the player to last at least 12hr (Long haul flight for instance). Changed the battery in my PM2 but still only get around 8hr. The R2 has 10way eq vs. The D2 6 way, more important than it seems for us EQ monkeys. Looks great in black...- Skint

Cowon Plenue R2
@muteness I will go for the R2. Been waiting for this one. Battery life and Cowon EQ are the most important things to me. Already purchased the plenue R case (half price due to open box on advancedmp3) as its exact same dimensions. Expect this will cost around £550.- Skint

FEARLESS Audio IEM's Discussion/Impressions
@warriorpoet What is the volume difference like on the Roland? e.g. how much more (or less) do you have to turn the Roland up vs. a multi BA iem? When I auditioned the Valkyrie I had to turn my play up +50% as opposed to my multi BA iem. I would guess the Roland is similar.- Skint

FEARLESS Audio IEM's Discussion/Impressions
Interestingly, I was chatting with the JH guy at CanJam who said in Europe most people prefer the Angie, while in USA most prefer the Roxanne - more mid/high centric vs. bass centric. Wonder if the general musical influence in each county feeds into this.- Skint

FEARLESS Audio IEM's Discussion/Impressions
Saving up now to buy the Roland, if it's as good as the EE Valkyrie (auditioned @ CanJam) then it's an absolute 100% winner!- Skint

CanJam London 2019 Impressions thread
@glassmonkey Amazing review! I think power is really important for these new e-stat hybrids. I couldn't get the trinity to sound good at all (sounded like a muddy mess) from my single ended Plenue M2 - even at almost max volume. A DAP or amp with balanced output is highly recommended. This was...- Skint

CanJam London 2019 Impressions thread
@krismusic Cheers man. Yeah it sucks, I was literally hanging around the bale whilst others listen looking at the clock but just ran out of time. I'm sure i'll catch it somewhere. Listened to all other Noble IEM's, Kaiser was my fave.- Skint

CanJam London 2019 Impressions thread
So, another great CanJam, only there for a few hours but got a lot in. I was really looking for endgame IEM for myself and the wife, but also nice to check out all the expensive gear on show. My Favorites (in order): 1. EE Legend X/Valkyrie - man I can't decide. Listened to the LX before and...- Skint

Astell&Kern KANN CUBE
Looks cool, will test it out at CanJam if it's there. As others: prefer 4.4 but OK, only 9hr playtime - surely a low power mode for IEM use with double battery life would be a good addition (batt life is my No.1 requirement for a dap), why is the xlr coming out the side? the cable/plug will get...- Skint

FEARLESS Audio IEM's Discussion/Impressions
OK just got the S8f with standard shell/faceplates. Listening to them on my (now fixed) Cowon PM2. I still need to run them in (yes i believe in that) but first impressions: Very musical, LOTS of micro details (on thing i love about IEMs) and slightly rolled off but all there treble. I...- Skint

FEARLESS Audio IEM's Discussion/Impressions
Anyone in UK: Amazon selling FA IEM's (Linsoul the seller) S5: £215.99 S6 Rui: £309.99 S8P of S8F: £379.99 S10: £529.99 Gotta say, I hope this kinda new wave of Chfi brings down prices of Western companies (probably wont). Gunna press the button on S6 or S8 or S10 for the wife after review...- Skint

CanJam London 2017 Impressions Thread (July 15-16, 2017)
Yes the Flare Pro - it's a regular single ended IEM but you can plug in a wireless module which replaces the Y split and it becomes a wireless IEM (didn't listen to the wireless though). Wireless module comes with the earphones which is cool - although it is a little chunky. The best imo is...- Skint

CanJam London 2017 Impressions Thread (July 15-16, 2017)
Didn't listen to as much stuff as last time due to running late, but here are my brief impressions; 64 Audio Tia Fourte and U18 are both stunningly amazing in every field, the wife preferred the Fourte as did I. Not sure I could spend that much on a universal IEM which is not so far away from...- Skint

@salavant I have custom Angie and compared them to Layla 2 uni at canjam. Layla is like Angie supercharged. Slightly better in all areas. However for the money Angie wins, or lime ears Aether I would take over Layla.- Skint
