Wow - UAPP quality is very good, at least with my Focal Clears is great, still to try with IEM´s but not a "use case" for me since it doesn't play tidal offline albums, so OTG I'll only play local music on Mango OS.

Thanks @BaHo. I tried but it always gave me an error the device was not associated. A moment ago just "by miracle" :-) my iBasso is showing as an associated device on play.google.com ... !!! so I just purchased from there - still to try but seems fine now. Thanks guys

Take a look at the hybrid Pro-Ject Pre box RS2 (tube stage is only for the pre out, not headphones) It has dual ESS9038Q2M DAC chips so some people might think it would be too analytical or bright with Clears but no, its a perfect match IMHO, full body, clear, detailed but not harsh or tiring at...

Not agree. The level of autosuggestion is high in all threads. And all apps sound the same, as also all amps - actually all equipments from source to transducers sound the same, its our mind that corrects the sound when when we look at them, no differences when blinded.

I thing power is really the main thing, remaining Numbers although better are pretty insignificant in audible terms, IMHO. I’ve been changing from bal to se in years, IEMS and Clear, currently my best combination is Clear SE to my DX220 with AMP9 tube amp my 2 cents

I don't think it matters. AFAIK its the same circuit, by other words when you burn on the SE output, all the circuit on the amp is active and burning. I might be wrong My 2 cents

The risk is that you shouldn’t plug/unplug any powered device. Current peaks, shortcuts, etc. i.e. If you misalign the pins when changing amps you can ruin the amp, dx220, or both

There are several posts on hot swapping amps to get more power out of AMP9. But iBasso implemented the new gain switch just for AMP9 precisely to get that more power without that risk, and, "eventually" delivering the enough power for some needs - maybe that´s not enough for some headphones...

I didn’t try AMP8 but would advise you to try the tube AMP9, sounds great with Focal Clear which is a very analytical and “clear” headphone. Actually this is my reference combo on portable music. I think Clear loves tube amps
