Hard disagree with this comment. Zach doesn't owe you anything and he certainly doesn't need to publicly inform the market that he is launching a headphone 6 months down the line.

I missed this little blurb, but the fact that he has enough ebony for 100 headphones is great news.

Ebony is my personal favorite wood, and while I wasn't able to get one this time (still paying off my aged cherry Atrium). I will definitely be keeping an eye out if Ebony ever returns in the future.

I'm sure a lot of the hot cup summer stuff is going to sell fast, but I have a feeling that the Macassar ebony are going to be sold out in a couple minutes. There will always be more stabilized and resin sets, but who knows when or if we'll see that beautiful ebony again.

I'm really happy with my aged cherry Atriums, they are the best headphones I've ever had, but I just looked at the hot cup summer pages and it's times like this that I wish I won the lottery or something so I could afford some of these stunning new headphones that Zach has cooked up.

I don't see the problem. The resin/stabilized models are extremely limited runs. It's not like they are going away from natural wood or anything. Both cocobolo and ebony wood are incoming.

Ebony is a great wood, it makes me wish I wasn't so broke so I could buy an Ebony VC.

I got my Atriums in the mail today. They are quite comfortable for how heavy they are, and I'm glad I went with the suede headband option as I think it is more padded and softer than the leather headband. They sound good straight out of the box with no burn in, but I'm also not an audio reviewer...

Everyone has their preference, it might not be the most fair fight, pitting a $4000 planar vs a $2500 dynamic though.

According to them, there should be an "assembly" stage after sanding and finishing. My guess is that it's difficult for them to send out a bunch of updated emails for everyone when they are still trying to deliver the large quantity of orders they got from the Atrium launch. I'm still crossing...

It's a new week and I still haven't received any updates regarding my aged cherry Atrium order after the initial email telling me it was in the sanding and finishing stage. @zach915m said that most orders would ship by the end of May so that really only leaves a couple weeks potentially left...

My understanding is that Atrium is so open that the hardness of the wood will have very little effect on the sound, if any. I would definitely go with whatever looks the best to you. I know Zach already said that there is going to be a run of stabilized headphones this summer. I'm sure they will...

From what I've seen the cherry sets can widely vary in appearance, so I won't know if I got some good figuring/grain lines until I open the box, but that's the gamble you take buying ZMF...

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that the F stands for Fostex, because Zach started out modding Fostex headphones. -edit, I stand corrected, it says on the website that the F is for films, which is quite the interesting plot twist.

Is there any longer wait than from the time you order a ZMF headphone until you receive them? I'd argue no. I wonder if anyone has tried the Atrium with the new 3rd gen Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies, seems like it could be a good pairing.

They say pre-orders are live today, but I see no pre-order available on their website. Maybe it's Asia only pre-order since they are the ones getting it months before everyone else.
