BGVP DN2 - Wonder of the Beryllium
Pros: Musicality
Clarity
Realism
Imaging
Energy
Ease of Drive
Cable
Cons: Euphoric sound can be tiring.
Lack of actual sub bass
MMCX plugs are hard to connect
Thanks Javid for the detailed review on this great for its price iem. Mine was concise as I always do.

Now is the time of Beryllium. And this piece is the BGVP answer for this wave. The magnificent iem of 60 bucks BGVP Dn2. Housing an in house BA driver named "Phoenix" + Beryllium plated DD and a 6N Pure Copper OFC cable with MMCX termination.

Sound

Being a Beryllium hybrid of 1ba + 1dd, sound is clean, smooth, musical and realistic overall. DD is Beryllium coated and BA driver is named as Phoenix and this is a driver they had developed. Airy, a little bright and forward. Timbre is natural. Detail level is enormous for its price. Soundstage is not too wide in studio recordings but faithful to the tracks original recording place characteristics. Thus you can and will hear the +90 instrumented rock symphony of master Zimmer as if you are listening though full sized open cans.

Conclusion

With a top notch fit by its aliminium chasis and 60 usd price tag, considering all the objective plusses: BGVP DN2 is a very well choice. I recommend to all who is looking for a fun (almost euphoric) and forward yet smooth sound for under $100.

Wow 🔥, :) then whats like this if your budget is 400$ i know the hidizs md4 ms4 but afraid the treble is not perfectly/effortlessly complimentary to the midrange, qoa gimlet might be dull, tipsy blue aurora lacks bass. not sure about nf audio if musical enough for me considering it might not have distinctly upfront vocals.. thanks man. also not sure about azla zwei and ns audio, maybe you can read the reviews and tell me what am looking at, most like this musical, full, engaging with no mids/treble overlap.

BGVP Artmagic Vg4 - Art in your ear
Pros: Strong at in all frequencies, Not hard to drive, Tweaks on sound is possible, Sturdy (very) cable, Comfortable
Cons: Tweak pins are hard to reach and nimble, Mid is a little loose on many sound sets
BGVP VG4 Review just arrived! BGVP ArtMagic VG4 comes with 9 sound presets, MMCX connectors and close to CIEM grade isolation experience. Thanks to BGVP for sending this review unit.

Box, Unboxing, Headphone, Cable

Box and contents are just like other latest BGVP IEMs: Headphone illustration on the white surface, on top left corner there's model name and on bottom right there's driver logos. Hi-Res logo on down left. On the back there's specs and address of the company. After take this white cardboard off, actual box appears. Inside the black box, canvas-like carrying case, IEMs and paperwork&earphone tips inside beige colored envelope. Cable is in the canvas case.

VG4 have 4BA and those are Knowles and Sonion armatures. Sonion armatures are rare and exclusive armatures that have very high quality and price. With pignose nozzle stem the sound is very close to you, in the other hand with solid one piece finish the structure completes itself to Custom Universal In-Ear Monitor. MMCX connectors color coded blue for left and red for right on cable, also there's L and R indicators on ear side.

Cable Quality is outstanding. VG4's cable is better than Faaeal Hibiscus and Bqeyz Spring 1's cables. Braided on 4x4 structure while keeping its flexibility. There's only one strain relief and it's on jack plug, there's ~1cm margin for mobile device cases. Y split shaped like grain rice and chin strap is circular, have BGVP logo on it.

  • Drivers – 4 balanced armatures (2 Sonion + 2 Knowles)
  • 3 tuning switches.
  • Impedance – 12 Ω
  • Sensitivity – 110 dB dB/mW.
  • Frequency response – 12Hz-40kHz.
  • Channel difference – ≤1dB.
  • Distortion rate – ≤0.5% (1kHz)
  • Rated power – 6mW.

BGVP ArtMagic VG4- Sound

Sound is partially dark while background is whole dark. Tuning sounds mellow, clarity is high. Even in this heavy metal track everything is on surface. There's no spikes and flows coherently. Strong, wide staged and airy, instrument separation is really good and instruments sounds 9/10 holographic. Everything's in front of you. Even in the electronic music you can hear those effects organic, full and tight just like real. I've heard this on Final Audio E1000 and Sennheiser Amperior before. VG4 got really good layering too, and have decent details.
In the Hans Zimmer Orchestra -which i oftenly use- while the bass instruments heats up; sitar, piano, strings... every one of them hearable and all of the splendid in the stage comes to your ear like an open-back headphone. We owe this to organic depth and vertical height of the stage. In ~5th minute i've heard choir sings on higher and further just like the live performance! I've experienced this on few headphones.

Due to its holographic presentation, every instrument on the stage have their own body and lastly if I must add, the sounstage is placed near the listener with all the reflection capacity it has.

(Sound characteristics may vary with switches on the VG4. I've used 1-1-1 preset on this review.)

Bass, Mid, Treble

Bass performance little bit depends on presets. They are not much in quantity but quality is good, fading in beats are naturally hearable. In the meantime you won't hear midbass thump in Metallica songs. Bass does not goes down much but you can experience comfortable listening with VG4's not bright and mellow sound.

I've mentioned naturality in midrange. Since the sound signature is like wide U, mids are recessed just a little bit but even in the complex songs you can track them one by one. In a trio band, Le Trio Joubran as i hear there's decent space in every percussive & strings therefore instruments can reflect their naturality. While we listen to a modern hip-hop song with 5-6 channel (Monitored with Cubase) the sound difference is audible with VG4.

Treble never does disturbs. If you listen carefully Metallica's intro you can hear Lars Ulrich's soft touches on cymballs with drumsticks on. This kind of detail might be annoying but since VG4 does not focuses on microdetails and sounds little bit dark and controlled you can eliminate this.

BGVP ArtMagic VG4 - Conclusion

In this review BGVP VG4 performed really good and passed in every field therefore it does respectfully claim its "Artmagic" name. Quality of the sound, sealed fit in the ear and joy on orchestral tracks makes it worth its price. I would recommend BGVP ArtMagic VG4 if you are looking for an upgrade.

iBasso AM05

ibasso AM05 - Premium Balance
Pros: Balanced, Soundstage, Lively, Comfortable
Cons: Cable thin for its price, Slight - on Mids, Stock Cable is 2.5mm
Now it's iBasso AM05 review time, AM stands for All Music. iBasso came out with its first digital audio player DX50, then brought legendary DX90 but after that iBasso headed towards iem manufacturing. Now they come up with iBasso AM05. This is the entry level to its' AM family.

Box, Unboxing, Headphone and Cable

Since this is loan IEM we can't say much about it's packaging/box but carrying case is circular and hard to open up. Can't say much about contents. Build is all clear resin, there's blue paint on plate also there's AM05 and All Music written on left and right. It's similarly shaped in CIEM like latest trends and iBasso AM05 isolates really well. It's easy to see the nozzle stem screwed to the body. There's no saltshaker-like holes on the filter, it's like tiny elliptic holes. Cable's connection unit is MMCX and cable does not look durable.

iBasso AM05 - Sound

Sound is flawlessly balanced. All of the 5 Balanced Armatures resonates same. Overall it sounds balanced, natural, clear and exposing. Layering is fine but not much airy, vocals are close like other side of midrange. With impedance and sensitivity level sound pressure inherently excels. Stage is also wide, like really. I would rate imaging 8,5/10 and instruments sounds realistic.

Bass, Mid, Treble

Bass sounds neutral as i mentioned above, it does not add extra bass while bass frequencies sounds puchy. Church bells at 01:20 of the timeless classic (High Hopes) is as if made of heavy iron and ready to make you suffer when slapped you, thus this expression alone marks its imaging :). In the other tracks bass frequencies reverbs naturally. Mids are neutral as bass. Instruments are really joyful thanks to imaging. It won't take you off from wide orchestrates. Vocals sounds 1 step close. Treble is just like midrange with much more detail and reveal, does not exhausts also smooth like other frequency ranges.

iBasso AM05 - Conclusion

It's good to see iBasso manufacturing headphones
, especially this kind of competent IEM. This drew a image of bronze skinned oldie lad to me. With it's 299$ price tag it may look overpriced but considering what AM05 gives you, it does makes sense. Sincere thanks to Mr. Halil who loaned us this review unit.

@Otto Motor I know sir. It was short because of my inexperience at adding review. I will try to do better in the future.

Pros: Balanced but mid oriented with a good bass (for armaure lovers, not bassheads), comfortable, a very wide stage, ultra rich and well designed box
Cons: Plastics under the drivers, cable (looks weird), L and R markings are prone to get erased.
The box is perfect I must say. Many tips and that designed by ... print and all that patented tech. And don't forget the lovely wide soundstage though not 3d.

Pros: Soundstage, bass, nice treble, price, weight, flexibility of tips
Cons: Box contents, build quality, bass quantity (before burnin)
Pretty good for its price. Can be considered as a startup or backup iem if all fails.

What was wrong with box contents and build quality? Just for my curiosity.
