Cons: Non removable Cables
Ear hooks doesn't stay on

Small Sound stage, inside your head sound
This review is for the QKZ Ak6 bass tuned IEMs, they come in similar case as the MDR flat but in a black case instead of a white one. It also comes with ear hooks but S, M and L ear-tips. When I tried out the stock tips they did feel comfortable. The mediums was a bit too big for my ears. so I used the smalls. Normally I wear medium size tips with other IEMs. I had some Spin-fit 145 that worked really well with the Ak6. The Spinfit 145 did a better job with the seal, where the stock ones i couldn't get a good seal and felt loose in my ears.

The ear hooks went on easily, but a problem I ran into is that they easy come off the cable, I found my self having to put them back into the hooks. it got to the point where i don't even bother keeping the ear hooks on. If the hooks had a way to snap on or stay on. It would make them worth using. The cables feel decent enough, they could be better. Unfortunately the cable isn’t removable, its permanent attached to the Ak6. Cable also includes a mic, but I haven’t tested it, as I didn’t have a way to do so.

Sound wise bass is the selling point of the QKZ Ak6, it’s little muddy, to me that is. While the detail is decent enough as I can hear drums, snares well enough and then a bit of the hit hats. The sound stage is kinda small and it comes off as being inside my head, with all the instruments in front of me, with stuff on the sides of me being a bit outside the center of my head. That include the voices, even the ones that's on the left and right of the center singer. I found the Ak6 does a good job with bass heavy music like Drum & Bass, Dub-step, and music with a lot of bass EDM just to name a few.

Movie Wise, I found it did a good job in a couple of movies that I watched, gun shot and explosions it did a very good job with. I didn't have issues with hearing the actors speak, as nothing over powered their voice, there voices also wasn’t thin. Same issue with the sound image, as it also felt like it all was in my head. I didn’t have any distort issues with the bass while watching movies.

Games was similar to experience that I had with watching movies. I didn’t have a problem with telling where things was located and overall the gaming experience been good with these. Weapons hows punch behind them. But it could be better if it didn’t feel like that the sounds where inside my head. Other then that I didn’t have an issue using these in games, or movies for that matter. They’re very decent the bass could be better.

Over all I found the AK6 to work alright for music, gaming, amd movies. But I couldn't get over the in your head type of sound stage or the stock ear tips not sealing property in my ears. In the end I put the Spinfit's 145 on to fix the seal.
