A local Shure dealer has offered me a price of $173 CAD ($138 USD) for Shure E3c earphones or $90 CAD ($72 USD) for the E2c. It seems like a super deal. What do you think?

the e3c's would be a very good deal if they're retail. Not so sure about the e2c's since I often see them around for 65 or less online.

I got the e2c for about $65, but I think retail price is about $99.

oh, where in Canada?

Yes, it is retail.
I bought from a great Hi-Fi shop in Victoria, BC. They didn't have any Shure earphones in stock, nor have they ever. I have purchased most of my gear (NAD amp and cd player, , Audio Note interconnects, Grado SR125, B&W speakers, etc.) from these guys over the years and they have always given me GREAT pricing. I noticed that their website showed they were a Shure dealer. So, I asked about ordering the E3c earphones directly through them. They were cool with that, so I ordered them today and should see them soon.
