And have I missed the pricing? No doubt the 18tzar won't be cheap, but how about the tia forte? Being a four driver, maybe it's more reasonable?

They haven't revealed the pricing yet. I am heading to Canjam in a bit. I will try to find out.

I wouldn't be surprised, but to me it looks like the Tzar is their new flagship, and maybe the tia is the "more reasonable" version.

I wouldn't hold my breath too much on it being reasonable. Sometimes being "the first to use" has quite a good excuse to have price premium even though the latter might be of much higher spec.

But like I said, I could very well be wrong about this. We'll just have to wait and see.

Th U12 is $1600. So my guess is that the 18 driver tzar universal could be around the $2000-$2500 price range. The 4 driver tia forte could be around $750-$800 mark.

Will the universals have these fanciful color options?

The 18 driver tzar is mentioned as being smaller than the U12 which is quite a feat. Looking forward to hearing the impressions from CanJam.

The apex-m15 module features a combination of dual ambient ports (that are larger than the single hole in the m20) and modified internals With -15db of isolation is almost as S1 ADEL, which has -18db, and pretty similar to M20, which has -20db. Will it really be a big difference in sound?

The apex m15 offers a bass cut comparable to the ADEL B1 module.

$3000? That's veering into Shure KSE1500 territory. While I'm sure they sound good, the price is a little hard to swallow.

Unfortunately, those are industry competitive prices. Zeus, Layla, KSE1500... if you've got something new and special, and jammed full of drivers, the market expects you to charge $2500-$3000.

That's well outside of my budget. The most I ever paid for anything beside a car was my Solars, which were $1350. I plan never to pay more than that without a serious income hike.

Whatever. It's not like we don't have plenty of options in the $1000-$1500 range.

The Zues is $2200. That's around 30% less than $3k. So yes it's not cheap, but a good enough bit cheaper to matter. And $3500 for the 4 driver Tia? Not that I'm totally surprised. But really want to know what makes it so special. Did you get a listen?

The price of the Tia is surprising. Makes you wonder what it could possibly sound like for that price. Which might be half the reason they did it, right there.
