My guess is someone touched on this already, but what are these cans priced at? tks

Atticus is $999 and Eikon is $1,299. Both of them are superb. Gorgeous mids and super impactful bass. Big thumbs up!

Could you tell how the bass on both the Atticus and the Eikon compare to the Omni ?

Thank you for everything last weekend!

I did not hear bad sound.  I met delightful people.  I spent money!

To my ears, the Herus and Herus + from Resonessence Labs were stars of the show.  They exhibited on the fifth floor instead of at CanJam.  Their mobile connection is cumbersome compared to similar products, but the sound is worth the extra effort.

I also enjoyed the amp from Rupert Neve and Moon Audio's Dragon Inspire.  They are very different designs from each other, but both made me sit and listen.

Now the countdown begins for next year!

That really depends on how you are powering the Omni. Quality and quantity are both a bit better than an Omni out of most headphone amps, IMO. Bass is really, really top notch on both. The Eikon is the headphone the Audeze XC wishes it was.

Perhaps I missed it , but I have not read ANY impressions regarding the Woo Audio WA22 SE or the Cavalli Tungsten. I have to believe folks gave these new,  high-end tube amps  a listen.  yes?

If the Cavalli Tungsten was what they had running the Mr. Speakers Ether C Flow, then I heard it. I know the booths were next to each other and essentially partnered up for demoing. I listened to the Ether C Flow extensively, so if I'm correct on the pairing then I indeed heard it (and was super impressed).

Sonoma Acoustics Model One may warrant comparison to other TOTL electrostats ! Interesting.

The Sonoma would not be easy to compare because, if I understand its description, the electrostatic headphone only works with their own amplifier. And the amplifier has a built-in DAC that only has a USB input?

I did listen to them and ummm, they were okay.

In all seriousness, taking the price out of the picture, it was the best sounding Ultrasone that I heard at their table (auditioned around five different pairs).  The biggest take-away from this model was that it was ultra-smooth compared to their other offerings, which all tended to be a bit peaky and bright.  The resolution was great, detail was stellar, and nothing struck me as a major weakness.

Now, taking the price into consideration.  To me it did not sound significantly better than the majority of ~$1,500 - $2,000 headphones on the market currently, but with more time and in-depth comparison, I would say it would hold its weight in this general league and would come down to personal tastes in the end.  However, it seemed like the exact same housing as all the other high-end models they offer, at much better prices I might add, which is both comfy and light, but generally feels a bit flimsy.  I believe the salesman told me that the cups are made out of something rare and expensive and that they have some additional expensive highlights (such as with the markers to tell you how to put them on, etc.).  Then they come with that fancy case and a nice twisted silver cable... those two items alone must be worth at least three grand right!

All in all, I see this as a headphone for those who not only want to have the best, but want to flaunt it too.  Sort of like the Vmoda crazy Crossfade badges made out of diamonds, gold, and precious stones.  For 99% of headphone fanatics out there, your money would be better spent elsewhere, which I hope is obvious.  Let that super rich guy, who nobody likes because they push their wealth into peoples' faces any chance they get, be the one to pick them up and you be the one to turn your back and laugh at the whole idea when it happens.

However, it was cool to try out such an expensive pair though and the Ultrasone guys were both very friendly and informative... I actually felt a little weird for a moment while I was handling them; found myself looking for the nearest exit, just in case someone bumped me and I snapped them in two on the table or something!

Edit:  I actually don't remember the model name unfortunately... additional edit, informed by @Hansotek that they are called the Jubilee 25 and that 250 were made.

This Jubilee 25 edition reminds me my ED5 (sold since) : Very precise but... lack of musicality.

I did. I even A/B listened with the HA-1, which they where using as the amp. To me, they sounded exactly the same. I had the HA-1 for a while, so I was fairly familiar with its signature. It's certainly possibly it might sound better with hi res DSD files, or something. For regular old cd quality files, it sounded the same to me.

The sonica has a different set of features, but you can read about those on the oppo web site.
The website didn't clarify all of them. Any mention of Roon support over Ethernet? Is it analog preamp and does the analog input get digitized? The site mentioned listening to your vinyl over wifi which made me think the signal may not remain analog.

Also, Although I have 2 HA-1's I don't think the headphone amp is particularly stunning. It's good but not something I'd put up against many discrete amps. So I'd want to A/B the HA-1's DAC vs the Sonica with one or more amps to really see where the differences in the DAC lie.

I think the common wisdom is the that the amp on the ha-1 is pretty good, but the DAC is edgy. At any rate they told me about all the features, but since I would never use any of them, I didn't even write it down. I don't think he mentioned roon, but I just don't recall.

Had an absolute blast this weekend at RMAF! So many great people to catch up with and finally meet so many friends I've made over the years in person. Jude is simply "the man". Plus added bonus, I got to meet The Admiral, David Robinson. I was 20 years old when the greatest sports team of all time was assembled. Regardless of being a Canadian, that 1992 Team USA Dream Team holds a very special place for me and meeting the starting centre and 1/2 of the "Twin Towers" of the Spurs was just the cherry on top of my weekend (well that and the Jays sweeping the Rangers

).

I'll be posting an update of my coverage over the next few days on Headphone.Guru (we had full coverage of RMAF), but quickly some of the new products that really impressed me were:

Audeze iSines...wow...amazing. These things sounded like full sized headphones. Really looking forward to reviewing them soon.
The new Noble Katanas were sublime!
The new Empire Ears Zeus blew my mind!
The Cavalli Tungsten sounded really sublime! Can't wait to see it in its final casing.
Cayin Audio i5 - for $500 a steal!
MrSpeakers Ether C Flow - great new closed headphones you won't have to sacrifice SQ for isolation.
The Wells Audio Head Trip...wowza! I finally got to enjoy the Abyss with this amplifier. Says a lot for me.
The Shangri-La was very impressive indeed! But sadly way, way out of my price range. But I bet right in David Robinson's wheel house.

Thanks Jude and Joe for all your hard work! All that running around on Thursday night really paid off for a great Can Jam! The only downside was getting used to the altitude; my first time in the Mile High City.

Counting down the days for next year!

Did anyone manage to listen to iFi iCan Pro? Been eyeballing it for a while.

Very impressive. New DAC and amp components are quite nice as well. Ran IEMs directly off the DAC component and it was quiet, controlled and tonally pleasing. Ran the Ether ES off of the Electrostatic add-on and it was also quite impressive.
