I currently have an HD 555 paired with my computer and Creative ZXR sound card. The sound card has a built-in mic amp.
 
My new headphones would be paired with this setup. I use it to play games, music, movies. I like rap, r&b, christian music.
 
I'm more about bank for buck. So if there are awesome $300 headphones that compete well with $500 headphones, I'm all ears.
 
I prefer the open back for the larger soundstage (helps with directional hearing in fps games).
