A-10 Thunderbolt ll, Fully Balanced Electrostatic Amp/Pre-Amp
Jul 30, 2009 at 2:19 PM Post #92 of 119
We have some good news regarding the chassis of the A-10.
They are here. We are waiting for the gold screws to arrive so we can put them together. All the 10 pc brds of both the power supply & the amp sections have been built. We have three A-10 units available at the special intro price, if you are looking into getting one, NOW is the time.
Cheers.

Thanks for bringing the A-10 to the Colorado Meet last weekend!

Here is my MINI-REVIEW:

It sounded great, and I liked the extra couple of dB of headroom/power that your amp gave with Stax O2 Mk1 vs my maxed GES. Ray, you are right though, why does anyone need to listen that loud anyways? I was also impressed with how well it converted single ended into balanced, which means not needing a balanced source to get nice sound. It also seemed pretty solid and well built, and sounded good with your HE90, my HE60, and Lambda 404 Limited Anniversary Edition as well.

Hey Larry...
Thanks for your kind words, once Skylab's review is done it will ship your way.
It was indeed pleasure to see you & your son.

No rush, I still haven't recovered from over-doing it at the Colorado meet - I can still hardly move, and only half my stuff is unpacked and set back up.

I got to see your amp yesterday and boy does it look sweet.

I wish it didn't cost so much to get into electrostatic headphones. Is there anyway other than the Jade, which is currently on sale for $1499?
