My apologies if this is a noobish question but why are the dt880s more expensive than both the dt770s and the dt990s.  Maybe I am making a mistake in assuming that cost is correlated with the model number but I would have thought that the dt990s would be the most expensive out of the three.

There are a number of threads comparing one against the other. The consensus is that the DT880 is the most neutral and (arguably) best of the bunch.
