Amazon Fire 7 2017 ed. Digital output?

Hi, just bought one of these really just to watch films on but I have tried to connect its micro USB to my Audiolab M DAC with no success, seems there's no digital output, can this be altered? Any help would be greatly appreciated, the Chris.
