Thought I would add this post after recently buying a Denon 260L tuner and falling back in love with the analogue sound. For such an inexpensive tuner I am amazed at what sound it produces plus it must be getting on 30 years old.
Would love ti hear what tuners you guys are using especially any classics like Leak/Quad etc.

Many years ago I worked for Scientific Audio Electronics ( SAE ). I still have and use a SAE 8000 tuner.

Los Angeles still has an excellent Classical station, as well as a fine Jazz station.

That Sae looks really nice, reminds me a bit of Magnum Dynalabs offerings.

Im not a fan of Jazz but I find you cant beat live classical on fm.

This is the SAE MK VI. It is the tuner I primarily tested / aligned when I worked at SAE.

I still can't afford one. : )

Yes, it's an oscilloscope. They were built in the 1970s. You can still find them used, but they are collectors items, and are not cheap.

You might enjoy this vid.

Thanks for that Mr Rick, fascinating tuner they really look like esoteric hifi, would love to hear one at some point. Best ive heard/owned in the past are Magnum Dynalab Etude and Leak Troughline with decoder, which was stunning.
